Job purpose

We are looking for a Programme Manager (maternity cover, approx. 10 months with the possibility to extend) to lead the transformation of our Data Platform and Analytics landscape. In this role, you will work cross-functionally with technical and business teams to deliver cutting-edge data solutions, enabling advanced analytics and business-critical insights.

In this role, you will work alongside our project managers, architects, engineering and analytics teams, managing our technical suppliers and collaborating closely with business partners to implement the change.

The programme will involve delivering a major technical step change that will transform our one-stop shop for business-critical KPIs and will enable advanced analytics capabilities across the organization.

Overall goals

You will be the technical leader providing the programme management necessery to enable strategic business transformation within the Data & Analytics domain. Your role will be essential in building a strong practice for the delivery and execution of transformational projects, supporting the growth and scaleability of the Data & Analytics services.

Duties and Responsibilities

Programme Coordination
: You will build and coordinate all aspects of the programme, including detailed project plans, resource allocation, risks, dependency management, and status reporting. You will serve as the primary point of contact for all project-related details.

Workstream Coordination:
You will oversee and drive the implementation of multiple concurrent workstreams within the New Data Platform programme, varying in size, scope, and complexity, and involving several teams and organizations. The workstreams include:

  • Working with the business teams to define and implement a one-stop shop for business-critical KPIs.
  • Building integrations necessary to unlock relevant data sources in the New Data Platform
  • Implementation of a data model that supports business processes and future data needs.
  • Change management strategies to facilitate smooth adoption by business customers.

Technical Understanding
: Maintain a strong end-to-end technical understanding of the solution being built, including upstream and downstream dependencies and impacts.

Risk Management
: Identify potential risks across assigned areas and collaborate with teams and management to mitigate these risks proactively.

Stakeholder Communication
: Create effective communication materials suitable for various levels of the organization, ranging from executive-level presentations to detailed documentation for technical teams and business users.

Collaboration
: Work closely with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Engineering and Architecture leaders, Data Engineers, and Business stakeholders to drive the delivery of transformational programs.

Delivery Excellence
: Pursue delivery excellence by fostering a culture focused on accountability, delivery, and results within the program organization.

Skills and Experience

  • 8+ years of related experience in technical programme/project management.
  • Hands-on experience with project management tools such as Azure Dev Ops (preferred), JIRA, or similar.
  • Strong understanding of Data Engineering, Data Analytics, Cloud Environments, and general software engineering domains, experience with Databricks is an advantage.
  • Proven experience in creating presentations tailored to diverse audiences, from C-level executives to individual contributors.
  • Demonstrated experience leading technical programmes across various organizations in an international context.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum metholologies along with a relevant Agile certification.
  • Experience in leading design and technical trade-off conversations to successful closure.

  • You embrace change and act as a catalyst for fostering a positive working environment within the projects that you lead.
  • You actively engage stakeholders and colleagues across the organization during the project lifecycle to ensure alignment of project goals and objectives, gather feedback, address concerns, and promote transparency.
  • You cultivate a collaborative environment by working closely with diverse teams, and facilitating effective communication and cooperation throughout the project.
