Job Description
Job purpose:
The Senior Finance Manager is a key member of the Laboratory Products Division (LPD)'s Finance team as well as the local site's Senior Leadership Team. Core responsibilities include the management of the site Finance function, and overall responsibility for the accuracy of all statutory and legislative reporting, as well as compliance with US GAAP and Sarbanes Oxley requirements.
This is a visible role, both in supporting the local site leadership, and also by virtue of being the main point of contact for site centric enquiries from the divisional finance team based in the US.
Primary responsibilities:
- Managerial leadership; Management of the site Finance team, prioritizing and distributing tasks, providing mentoring and developing a clear understanding of each team member's role, responsibilities and professional progression
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of transactions and journal entries to support the monthly closing and reporting process; Timely review of all monthly reconciliations and clear presentation of results
- Support accurate submission of financial results, budgeting, forecasting and supplemental reporting in applicable financial systems
- Develop and implement policies and procedures across both the finance function and site in order to support a framework of strong compliance and strategic decision-making. Ensure these processes are well understood, maintained and monitored
- Support both internal and external functional audits and work with other members of the team to develop and maintain remedial actions from findings
- Apply Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Corporate Accounting Policy to all elements of internal and external reporting, to ensure a strong compliance framework. Work with the wider Corporate team to review and maintain these principles and discuss areas of concern with the Divisional team
- Identify areas of opportunity to create more efficient/accurate working practices that support both the site and wider function – Find A Better Way Every Day
- Develop a strong working knowledge of both the site and business operating systems
- Proactively prioritize and respond to both regular and ad hoc reporting to ensure strong predictable execution and transparency of results
- As the Finance function is led from the US, some out-of-hours working and travel may be required on occasion.
Qualifications & Experience
- An MBA or a university level degree within Accounting or Finance
- Professional proficiency in both Danish and English languages
- Confident, wholistic approach from a solid career within business finance
- Strong, proven experience of managing a multi-discipline Finance team
- Proven abilities within implementing new policies and processes
- Prior experience of producing reporting for the US would be an advantage
- Familiarity with working for a high-volume production company would be advantageous
- Working knowledge of Hyperion planning tool a benefit (otherwise, full training will be provided)
