Are you an experienced Backend Developer with a passion for web technologies and a love for building smart, robust, and high-quality solutions that reach thousands of users and customers every day?

We are looking for a backend developer to help us develop the market-leading PR platform in the Nordics, with the vision: "Building awareness and relations today, creating a positive impact on the society of tomorrow."

What is it like to work at Mynewsdesk?
Mynewsdesk is an international workplace with around 15 developers of diverse expertise split into different teams. The teams collaborate closely with product managers, designers, data scientists, and test engineers to drive innovation and success.

We believe that you perform at your best when working on tasks that are both fun and challenging. To support this, we have separated working tracks led by a product manager and teams guided by a technical engineering manager. You have the flexibility to choose and switch between different tracks or focus on specific technical projects.

Our stack

We use Ruby and Node.js to build robust APIs and services, with databases such as Clickhouse, PostgreSQL, and Elasticsearch. You are comfortable to work with Ruby and have experience with SQL databases. React skills are a big plus.

Our frontend tech stack includes React, Apollo GraphQL, Styled Components/CSS, and Next.js. We also leverage tools like nx for efficient project management and modularization.

We use standard tools for collaboration and development, such as GitHub, Jira, Slack, and G-Suite. Additionally, we utilize big data services to process customer data and analyze the media landscape, enabling a truly data-driven PR workflow.

What will you do?

• Develop and maintain backend solutions using Ruby and TypeScript.
• Build scalable and performant web applications.
• Collaborate closely with designers and product leads as part of a cross-functional team.
• Optimize backend performance and ensure high-quality user experiences.
• Contribute to discussions and implementation of platform improvements to meet future user requirements.

Who are you?

• You have an innovative approach in both maintenance and new development, are committed and self-driven.
• You want to help streamline and innovate our product for the better..
• You are comfortable working with React.
• You are proficient in backend development.
• You take pride in your work and know how to balance quality with timely delivery.
• Enjoy seeing your solutions deployed to production.
• You communicate fluently in English and preferably have strong language skills in Swedish or Norwegian.
• We would like you to have at least 2 years of experience in a similar role.
