About the role:
The Medical Lead will lead global medical strategy and set impactful results-driven strategic direction for the global and country teams.
Medical Lead will provide direct line management and lead the medical team for global and in-market teams to ensure integration and successful execution of Medical Affairs activities from both local and global Medical plans for Oncology.
Key responsibilities:
- Overall responsible for global and country medical organizations within Oncology, strategy and tactics with people management responsibilities
- Leads medical input into Global Brand Leadership, Lifecycle management and drives related medical affairs activities
- Leads development of global medical strategy and Global Medical plan. Oversees translation of global strategy into local medical functional/tactical plans
- Provides operational oversight and specifies new processes and standards to drive business or functional strategies.
- Ensures the planning and execution of medical strategy both on a global and country level which addresses current and future needs of the business
- Acts as a leader within the global cross-functional organisation, builds confidence and credibility in the medical function amongst key stakeholders
- Provides medical input to Labelling Management Team, Safety Management Team and other Global fora
- Ensures high quality global strategic scientific communication for at select global congresses and through scientific publications
- Develops Global research/IIS strategy and reviews IISs & NISs
- Oversees the medical affairs activities
- Ensures adherence to all applicable SOPs, policies, processes, & compliance guidelines
- Supports the assessment of Business Development opportunities including market expansion as needed
- Is accountable for planning and delivery of assigned activities
- Provides medical insights contributing to product development
- Makes sure the business maintains a status of compliance with affiliate and international codes and regulations relevant to the markets in which the business operates
- Leads, develops and builds a high performing, fully integrated Medical function
- Global Lead for Investigator Initiated Studies and Non-Interventional Studies, if applicable
- Global (and local, if applicable) promotional materials review
This role is based in Denmark but is open to hybrid and remote working options too.
Qualifications:
- Advanced scientific degree (MSc, MD, PhD, PharmD)
- 8+ years of Medical affairs experience in Oncology therapy area, including in-market medical affairs, with regional or global experience also being desirable
- Experience of development of insights driven medical strategy & tactics, including medical communications, patient/HCP engagement as well as design and conduct of Non-Interventional Studies and Investigator Initiated Studies
- Experience in managing individuals/teams
- Proven ability to generate, analyze and interpret clinical trial and published data
- Track record of successfully developing and executing medical functional plans both in terms of evidence generation, scientific communications and external expert engagements
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously to ensure timely, on-target and within budget accomplishment of tasks
- Analytical mindset with and in-depth knowledge of organizational objectives
- Ability to adapt information and to convey to others (team members, management team or similar) with a divergent interest
- Ability to coach, guide and develop new managers
