The Commercial Department at Universal Music Denmark is UMG’s in-house Digital Marketing, Commercial, and Insights Hub. The Data Analyst position will be part of the Central North Europe (CNE) Analytics team, UMG’s hybrid full-stack analytics division covering the Nordic and Benelux regions.
As a Data Analyst you collaborate with the The Commercial team based in Copenhagen on supporting our labels and artists. You’ll be providing analysis and insights, that helps them make decisions on release- and marketing strategies.
The focus of the Data Analyst will furthermore be on supporting data projects across the organization with a particular focus on reporting and transforming data from a number of audience and commercial platforms, so that the output can feed into further process e.g. Machine Learning, reports and dashboards.
This role will help implement strategic data projects, as well as support day to day ad-hoc requirements. This may include building and maintaining data solutions, new workflows and ensure timely and accurate delivery of data across the business.
Responsibilities
- Lead projects with hands-on analysis and modeling, drawing from multiple of analytical methods to choose the right tool and right level of complexity appropriate for the business challenges.
- Engage broadly with the organization to identify, prioritize, frame, and structure analytics projects and/or tools.
- Identify and communicate the challenges and opportunities found through data and translate these to non technical stakeholders.
- Articulate business questions and use mathematical techniques to arrive at an answer using data. Translate analysis results into business recommendations.
- Visualising data: to produce clear and engaging dashboards and reports.
- Ensuring smooth handover of reports and dashboards as required: ensuring processes are repeatable and well documented.
Experience/Skills:
Necessary:
- Bachelor degree in a field such as Machine Learning, Science, Applied Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, or Economics.
- Fluency in a querying language (SQL, Hadoop/Hive)
- 1+ years of relevant working experience in an analytical role.
- Experience processing, filtering, and presenting large quantities (Millions to Billions of rows) of from different product groups and business functions
- Experience of cloud computing, ideally GCP with experience of uploading and creating tables of data within these platforms and optimizing tables for use by vizualisation and BI tools. Eg. Azure, Redshift, Snowflake or BigQuery.
- Experience with dashboard tools like Looker Studio, Power BI og Tableau
Desirable:
- Master’s degree in a field such as Machine Learning, Science, Applied Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, or Economics.
- Knowledge in scripting or computing language (Python, R etc.)
- Experience in the streaming media industry or other subscription-based service.
