This is a key role within our supply chain organization, with responsibility for driving global distribution planning, optimizing the flow of goods, and ensuring effective process coordination across multiple departments. The Role
As Senior Global Distribution Logistics Planning Manager, you will lead the global distribution planning process, ensuring optimal movement of goods between productions and to regional distribution centers. You will collaborate across teams and functions to implement strategies that enhance efficiency, improve inventory management, and support our ability to deliver vaccines to patients around the world. Your expertise will contribute to safeguarding Bavarian Nordic’s global supply chain and ensuring the continuous availability of our products.

The position can be based in Denmark, Germany, or Switzerland.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and lead global distribution planning activities in alignment with Bavarian Nordic’s operational objectives.
• Optimize the end-to-end flow of goods between manufacturing facilities to global distribution hubs and regional warehouses.
• Ensure systems and processes are aligned to support efficient, scalable logistics and distribution operations.
• Coordinate with Operations and cross-functional teams to ensure seamless product flow and process efficiency.
• Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the effectiveness of distribution planning and drive data-based decisions.
• Identify potential risks within the global logistics and distribution planning processes, developing and implementing mitigation strategies and contingency plans.
• Lead initiatives to continuously improve and optimize processes, driving operational excellence and increased coordination across departments.
• Act as the main point of contact for global planning, Ext. Manufacturing and regional logistics teams, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
• Contribute to the development and execution of supply chain strategies that support Bavarian Nordic’s long-term business goals.

Your Background

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• 7-10 years of experience in logistics planning and global distribution management within a complex, regulated environment.
• Proven track record of driving process optimization and achieving operational efficiencies in an international organization.
• Strong analytical capabilities with the ability to manage and interpret complex data sets to support decision-making.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to manage stakeholders across multiple regions and functions.
• Proficiency in logistics planning tools and ERP systems; experience with D365 is an advantage.
• Strong leadership skills and the ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
• Highly organized and detail-oriented, with a commitment to continuous improvement and best practice implementation.
• Ability to collaborate effectively across cultures and geographic locations.
