The Position
As an ABAP developer, you will be a part of a highly experienced and efficient agile team, consisting of Payroll & Time specialists as well as colleagues (Business Analysts, Business SMEs, and Software Developers) from our Data, Digital and IT organization(DD&IT). In this diverse role, you will provide support in the ‘Time’, ‘Leave’ and ‘Payroll’ solutions for our Danish organization.

You will handle development tasks for the entire team while also managing 2nd line support for users in our DK Payroll team in Finance. Beyond strong development skills, you will be responsible for requirement specification, documentation, testing, and communication with users and stakeholders, ensuring alignment with business logic and stakeholder needs. The role requires adaptability, as daily tasks and priorities will shift on short notice.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Design, build and improve ABAP applications and functions to meet user needs
  • Review and assess change requests for validity, business needs, and impact on IT services
  • Translate business requirements into application requirements and ensure change documentation
  • Analyze system problems to identify underlying causes and develop solutions
  • Ensure effective integration of SAP HCM with SuccessFactors and other systems for seamless functionality
  • 2nd line support to Payroll team on the Portal2People platform. Including troubleshooting, developing changes, documentation, and testing in collaboration with the users
  • Engage in agile events like sprint planning, daily stand-ups, system demos and retrospectives as part of our agile development team

You will be working out of our Bagsværd office in Denmark; however, 50 % of your work can be performed remotely (from Denmark).

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment and a positive attitude to teamwork and contributing to various tasks within the Time, Leave and Payroll domain.

Furthermore, we hope that you have the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree within IT, engineering or equivalent
  • Developer skills: Strong ABAP application development skills specialized in ABAP for HR and experienced in time and payroll modules
  • System integration expertise: Experienced with SAP HCM integration with SuccessFactors and other systems for seamless functionality
  • Preferably 5+ years working with IT projects; specifications, design, and development and implementation of IT solutions
  • Experience with SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) front-end is an advantage (OData, SAPUI5, Fiori, TypeScript, Javascript etc.)
  • Experience with KMD Netpay is an advantage
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken is a requirement, the Danish language is preferred

We are looking for someone with excellent communication skills, capable of engaging in productive and constructive conversations with a diverse range of stakeholders. You are a fast learner, adaptable to change, and demonstrate agility in your approach. Strong analytical abilities, a proactive mindset, and problem-solving skills are essential.

Experience working in an international organization with a complex IT environment, particularly in an agile setup, would be an advantage.

About the Department
The position is anchored in our HR IT Solution Design Department within the HR Digital, Data, and IT (HR DD&IT) unit. HR DD&IT is a global organisation consisting of approx. 100 employees based in Denmark, India and Poland as the main hubs. We employ people with various roles such as system managers, solution architects, software developers, business analysts and other specialists.
