Remote first with focus on being cohesive
The team is remote-first with a strong sense of cohesiveness. While the HQ is in Copenhagen, the team is spread across Europe and Asia. Collaboration is asynchronous, they ship daily, and meet physically a few times a year to connect, align, and celebrate.

About the role
As Tech/Team Lead, you’ll be responsible for leading a small group of engineers, driving architectural decisions, and staying hands-on with code (expect to code 70–80% of your time). You’ll collaborate closely with product managers and designers, break down high-level product goals into small, testable releases, and help cultivate a strong culture of shipping fast and learning quickly. Your role is central in the next evolution of SimplerQMS and the product and you will have plenty of room to grow and place your mark.

The engineering team value simplicity over complexity, shipping over polishing, and teamwork over individual heroics. The current stack includes Rails, Svelte, PostgreSQL, AWS, and a strong emphasis on automated testing and feature-flagged releases.

You’ll play a key role in:

• Leading by example with clean, well-tested code
• Guiding technical decisions and architecture across teams
• Helping engineers scope, prioritize, and deliver value iteratively
• Working closely with stakeholders and supporting team autonomy
• Shaping the team and mentoring engineers

We think you’ll thrive if you

• Have 6+ years of software engineering experience, including experience leading or mentoring teams
• Are pragmatic and can turn ideas into working software
• Enjoy working in product-focused teams with ownership of delivery
• Are comfortable with frontend tech - ideally Svelte or React and maybe had a bit of exposure to backend tech like Rails (not a req.)
• Thrive in a collaborative and remote-first environment
• Want to stay close to the code but have a strategic mindset

Bonus if you have:

• Experience with regulated environments or Life Science tools
• A strong architectural sense and a bias for simplicity
• A pragmatic approach to testing and continuous deployment
