Job Description
Are you ready to shape the future of smart construction and be a part of driving high-quality solutions that power the next generation of machine control technology?

About our workplace
Whatever the project, our customers have one thing in common: their successes, profits, businesses, jobs - even their lives and the wellbeing of others - depend on getting it right.

Hexagon is a global leader in digital reality solutions, combining sensor, software, and autonomous technologies. At Hexagon’s Leica Machine Control Division, we specialize in developing advanced solutions for the construction and heavy machinery industries. Our innovative systems empower customers to optimize their workflows, reduce costs, and improve efficiency with precision technology - while also enhancing safety on construction sites by helping protect workers through accurate, real-time guidance and monitoring.

As part of Leica Machine Control, you will join a global organization that values collaboration, innovation, and professional growth. We foster a supportive environment where you can develop your skills and contribute to meaningful projects that make a difference in the world.

About your role
We are looking for a proactive and driven Strategic Purchaser to join our Procurement team in Leica Geosystems’ Machine Control Division to strengthen our internal stakeholder and external supplier collaboration.

In this role, you will be instrumental in ensuring that Leica consistently delivers top-quality supplies and products by managing commercial relationships, negotiating contracts, and optimizing our supplier portfolio. Additionally, you will support our procurement initiatives and contribute to our transition toward becoming a fully integrated partner within our global network.

Some of your responsibilities include:

  • Leading procurement initiatives focused on cost savings and life-cycle management.
  • Establishing and maintaining strong supplier relationships to ensure effective risk management, availability, quality, and cost efficiency.
  • Negotiating contracts, pricing, delivery performance, and total cost of ownership (TCO).
  • Managing supplier, product, and master data within our SAP systems.
  • Collaborating with the Quality team to select, evaluate, and approve new suppliers.
  • Handling supplier claims and deviations in coordination with relevant stakeholders.
  • Supporting the Planning and Procurement team in resolving material supply issues and identifying alternative sources.
  • Implementing and adapting to evolving regulatory requirements within your supplier portfolio to ensure ongoing compliance with domestic and international import, export, and quality standards.

Who are you?

  • Professionally proficient in English, both written and spoken.
  • Open-minded and eager to learn and adopt new IT tools.
  • Skilled in Excel; experience with SAP or MRP systems is a strong advantage.
  • Analytical and structured, with a high attention to detail, strong quality focus, and solid commercial awareness.
  • Outgoing and proactive, with a continuous improvement mindset and a passion for solving challenges.
  • Experienced in supplier management, contract negotiations, and end-to-end procurement processes.
  • Educational background relevant to procurement, ideally with experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably involving electronics or mechanical components.

Additional Details
Expect to spend around 20-30 days per year visiting suppliers and conducting onsite evaluations - an excellent opportunity to build global relationships and gain firsthand operational insights. As English is our corporate language, you’ll collaborate seamlessly with international teams and partners throughout these engagements.
