Senior Software Engineer - Core Services and Integrations

At Zenegy, we are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to help design and grow the core services that power our product ecosystem, including billing, subscriptions, identity, localization, and external integrations.

About the role
You will join the team that owns mission-critical platform services used across Zenegy. Your focus is on designing and delivering robust, well-documented services and APIs that enable fast, safe product development and great developer experiences for both internal teams and external partners. You will collaborate closely with our Technical Product Owner to shape roadmaps and outcomes.

What you will do

• Design, build, and operate shared backend services for billing, subscriptions, identity, localization, and public APIs
• Deliver high-quality, versioned APIs with clear contracts and documentation
• Collaborate with internal product teams to translate needs into scalable service capabilities
• Work with integration partners and external developers to resolve issues and improve integrations
• Champion reliability, performance, observability, and security across services
• Contribute to engineering standards, code reviews, testing strategies, and mentoring of teammates
• Help plan and execute platform improvements and pragmatic technical debt reduction
• Define and track success metrics that balance performance, usability, adoption, and maintainability

Who you will work with

• Backend, cloud, and front end engineering teams
• Internal product teams building end-user features
• Customer support, integration partners, and sales teams
• External developers and third-party service providers

What you bring

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience building backend services and APIs
• Proficiency in C# and .NET
• Strong grounding in distributed systems, service design, and data modeling
• Practical experience with relational databases such as MS SQL Server
• Familiarity with event-driven patterns and messaging such as Inbox Outbox, CQRS, or similar
• Focus on quality through automated testing approaches such as unit, integration, and contract tests
• Clear communication, collaborative mindset, and a bias for well-reasoned simplicity

Nice to have

• Solid understanding of authentication and authorization concepts such as OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, and JWT
• Experience delivering RESTful APIs, API versioning strategies, and OpenAPI based documentation
• Experience with document or distributed databases such as Cosmos DB or similar
• Background with domain-driven design concepts
• Performance tuning and query optimization at scale
