Hardware Engineer – Test Systems for Space Technology

GomSpace A/S

Do you want to design and build test systems that ensure flawless performance in satellite production?

To keep our production running at top quality and efficiency, we develop our own in-house test systems — and now we’re looking for a talented Hardware Engineer to help us take these systems to the next level.

Join our Production & Qualification Test Team, where innovation meets precision.
You’ll play a key role in designing, building, and improving test setups for both baseband and RF products — and you’ll see the direct impact of your work every day on the production floor.

Your Role
You’ll be part of a small, dedicated team consisting of a software engineer and a test engineer. Together, you’ll create the production test infrastructure that ensures every product we ship meets the highest standards.

Your role is broad and hands-on — from concept and design to implementation and documentation — and you’ll collaborate closely with colleagues across engineering and production.

Your tasks include:
• Designing and building production test equipment for baseband and RF products
• Running in and validating new production test systems
• Working closely with R&D engineers to define and refine test specifications
• Developing and optimizing production test strategies together with the test team and production
• Improving, scaling, and documenting test setups (schematics, wiring diagrams, etc.)

Short- and Long-Term Success
In the initial phase, success means:
• Gaining a deep understanding of our existing production test setups and manual test systems
• Implementing and validating new test equipment to support scaling of baseband and RF production
• Building strong relationships with the production and development teams to ensure seamless collaboration

In the longer term, you will:
• Design, implement, and validate new automated test systems for products currently tested manually
• Develop production test solutions for new products in close collaboration with development engineers
• Contribute to continuous improvement and scaling of our test infrastructure to support future growth

What You Bring
You’re an experienced and proactive engineer who enjoys combining technical insight with practical implementation. You take ownership, pay attention to detail, and thrive when your designs directly support high-quality production. You are confident communicating in English, both verbally and in writing, as you will collaborate with colleagues and partners across our multinational organization.

You likely:
• Hold a degree in electronics, electrical engineering, or a similar field
• Have 5+ years of experience as a hardware engineer or in a similar role
• Are confident working with schematic and PCB layout in Altium
• Understand how to design, build, and validate test equipment for production environments
• Communicate clearly and collaborate effectively across disciplines
• Take pride in creating reliable, maintainable, and well-documented solutions

It’s an advantage if you have:
• Experience with production test development
• Knowledge of Linux and/or Arduino
• Familiarity with instruments such as power supplies, acquisition units, frequency counters, and spectrum analyzers

Who You Are
You’re not just a skilled engineer — you’re someone who takes initiative, solves problems, and keeps moving forward even when things get complex. You enjoy collaboration, but you’re also comfortable working independently and seeing a project through from start to finish.

You bring:
Helpfulness – you support and share knowledge across teams
Open communication – you’re transparent, proactive, and follow up reliably
True ownership – you take responsibility and deliver quality in everything you do
Structure & clarity – you build, document, and maintain scalable systems
Problem-solving mindset – you stay motivated when facing challenges and look for smarter ways to work

You’re driven by quality, optimization, and collaboration — and you want your engineering work to make a real difference in production performance and product excellence.

Why Join Us?
