Line Manager – Application Support Services
Leading Business Critical Application Services team with a focus on people leadership and development, managing team of 20 IT professionals in a multinational globally integrated environment.
Team Overview: Your team will provide operational support and manage project work, supporting hundreds of client applications and multiple middleware platforms. As a global team, they collaborate with colleagues from Denmark, Hungary and the Philippines. Daily communication happens in English via online channels such as MS Teams calls and chat, and you will be expected to do the same.
Technologies supported by the team include Windows and Unix-based applications, as well as MQ, WebLogic, WebSphere, Apache Tomcat, OpenShift, and a variety of Application and Web Servers, including TWS.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and inspire a team responsible for business-critical applications in highly regulated enterprise environments, ensuring operational excellence and service continuity.
- Foster a strong team culture focused on collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning.
- Support people growth and development through coaching, mentoring, and clear career progression paths.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, security, and audit requirements.
- Oversee incident, change, and problem management processes with a focus on proactive prevention and fast recovery.
- Collaborate closely with business stakeholders to align application performance and reliability with organizational goals.
- Drive continuous process improvement, automation, and knowledge sharing to enhance stability, efficiency, and team capability.
- Manage the team’s workload, including setting clear goals and deadlines, allocating resources, and overseeing project management.
- Actively listen to team members' feedback and address any issues or conflicts that arise.
- Collaborate with HR to ensure adherence to all HR processes, including performance management, compensation, retention strategies, and the annual organizational review.
- Foster strong cooperation with other Aeven delivery centers in Denmark, Hungary and the Philippines.
- Regularly report on key metrics and KPIs to ensure alignment with business goals.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Proven ability to effectively lead a large team (20) of Application Engineers with diverse backgrounds, expertise levels, and seniority.
- Solid technical understanding of IT infrastructure and business metrics, with knowledge of industry best practices and benchmarks.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, applied within an international environment.
- Strong understanding of ITSM processes and Agile methodologies.
- Familiarity with IT Operations and IT Outsourcing environments.
- In-depth knowledge of performance metrics and how to drive them.
- Proactive in fostering internal and cross-team collaboration to ensure smooth operations.
- Positive attitude, open-mindedness, and a strong team player mentality
