Product owner - Financial Crime Prevention

This position is based at our friendly offices in Roskilde, and you will join our FCP Product Management team in Business Innovation Products. The Financial Crime Prevention domain is responsible for delivering the best possible tools for our banks to identify and fight financial crime in Denmark and internationally. You will be part of a dynamic environment, collaborating closely with business and IT stakeholders to ensure effective, scalable, and user-friendly solutions.

At BEC, we prefer to collaborate often in the office, but we also keep the opportunity to work remotely up to 8 days per month. Your direct manager will be Product Manager Tommy Vinholt.

Primary tasks and responsibilities include:

  • Own and prioritize the product backlog, ensuring alignment with business needs and strategic goals.
  • Collaborate closely with the product manager, development manager, development team members, other product owners, and the domain architect to ensure cross-domain collaboration and architectural fit.
  • Prepare features for the development team, facilitate refinement sessions, and communicate product vision and plans to relevant stakeholders.
  • Act as the bridge between IT and business, challenging and balancing interests and priorities when conflicts arise.
  • Secure alignment with customers and stakeholders on objectives, balancing expectations for deliveries, and building the roadmap for upcoming quarters.
  • Work with a broad range of stakeholders: bank representatives, IT architects, legal functions, subject matter experts, and other product owners.
  • Approximately once a year, travel to Poland can be expected.
  • Contribute actively to BEC’s agile transformation and foster a collaborative, trust-based team culture.

To succeed you will have:

  • Fluent Danish and English skills (written and spoken).
  • A curious mind with an open nature and a desire to knowledge-share with others.
  • Preferably, an educational background at bachelor’s or master’s level within IT, Finance, or Banking, and 2-5 years of experience from a similar position.
  • Proactive, self-driven, and result-oriented approach.
  • Strong customer focus and proven stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Ability to facilitate communication between customers and development teams.
  • Focus on quality, business value, and making things happen.
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills.
  • Structured and able to navigate requirements and priorities of varying criticality.
  • Experience with agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban) and backlog management.
  • Ability to challenge both the team and the business regarding solutions and priorities.

It’s nice-to-have:

  • Experience working with development of AML solutions.
  • Certified Product Owner (e.g., Scrum PO certification).
  • Sector knowledge in insurance or banking.
  • Experience with cross-functional teams and digital transformation.
  • Proficiency in M365 Copilot
  • Additional language skills.
