Risk Manager

Join us in this role where you’ll where you’ll use your analytical, technical, and visual skillsets to translate risk on Ørsted’s assets and contracts into actionable insights correctly represented in our risk systems, dashboards, and reports. You’ll gain a deep understanding of European power markets, renewable subsidy structures, and market risk methodologies.

You’ll be part of Portfolio & Structured Risk, within Market Risk, a team of around ten colleagues responsible for 1st line market risk related to Ørsted’s European portfolio. We work with a large set of stakeholders across the organization interacting with many different nationalities and backgrounds, focusing on being commercially oriented and staying curious, maintaining a professional atmosphere yet keeping an informal tone with room for fun and laughter. It is also a team who will help you grow your talent through collaboration and knowledge sharing and our ambition to understand our stakeholder’s business to a degree where our risk capabilities are value-adding.
You’ll play an important role in:
- performing exploratory analyses on the energy market risk of Ørsted’s assets and contract structures to explain portfolio risk movements
- maintaining and improving market risk dashboards and ensure timely reporting to stakeholders
- ensuring data quality: reconcile positions and exposures across systems, validate inputs, and document data.
To succeed in the role, you:
- hold a master’s in economics, Mathematics, Finance, Data Analytics or similar field of study
- are competent in Excel and familiar with at least one of the following languages: SQL, Python, or VBA
- can visualise and communicate complex data clearly using Power BI or other analytical tools
- pay attention to detail and have a structured approach to data validation and documentation
- have a collaborative mindset, curiosity, and willingness to learn energy market risk methodologies
- embrace working in a dynamic work environment, as Ørsted is currently undergoing significant changes.
