The Opportunity
Join Hitachi Energy’s HVDC unit (High Voltage Direct Current) as a Site Commissioning Manager, working on global projects that shape the future of energy transmission. HVDC technology enables efficient long-distance power transfer and interconnects power systems worldwide, including undersea cable applications.
In this role, you will be responsible for planning and executing commissioning activities on-site for medium-to-high complexity projects. You will ensure all activities are completed safely, on time, and in accordance with contract specifications and quality standards. Expect extensive travel—up to 75% of your time on-site, with assignments ranging from 6 to 12 months globally. When home, we offer flexibility in your work location.
How you'll make an impact
- Execute commissioning activities on global HVDC sites.
- Develop time schedules, interpret customer specifications, and create detailed test plans.
- Prepare and manage test equipment and commissioning resources for projects.
- Establish routines, processes, and documentation for commissioning activities.
- Participate in customer meetings to clarify processes and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Handle quality assurance documentation and participate in internal reviews and FATs.
Your Background
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
- Several years of on-site commissioning experience, including preparation and execution.
- Previous experience with HVDC or FACTS systems is a strong advantage.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a global environment.
- Highly motivated, detail-oriented, and adaptable to different cultures and working conditions.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
- Holder of an EU Passport
