Product & Experience Portfolio Manager, Hearing aids

In the role as Portfolio Manager, you will join the Portfolio Management team. You will work closely with colleagues from across GN to define a portfolio of products and experiences that will help hearing impaired get more from life daring to set hearing free. Interested? – Please do read on!

The Team
You will be part of the Portfolio Management team within Hearing Products & Experiences and will report to the Head of Portfolio Management.

The key responsibility of the Portfolio Management team is to ensure the right portfolio of products and experiences to enable the GN Hearing division to reach its goals – while making life for hearing impaired people even better.

Portfolio Management is part of Products & Experience Hearing that consists of Experience Innovation, Product management, In-market product portfolio – and Portfolio Management. The Portfolio Management team is a small, impactful team spanning from early market need exploration to taking portfolio choices thorough development.

The Role
You will be involved in a variety of activities within the team, and there will also be opportunities to get insight into what else is happening in the pipeline as the team is involved in a wide range of initiatives and development tasks.

  • Support development of GN Hearing product and portfolio strategy in collaboration with other key parts of Product Management, R&D and Sales – where to play, how to win, and the priorities on how to do this.
  • Act as a liaison between the R&D teams and Products & Experiences team, providing technical expertise and commercial guidance when required.
  • Drive alignment and support through relevant business processes and strategies as well as key stakeholders in the organization (eg. P&E, DC, Regions, Market Commercialization)
  • Understand market needs and opportunities, by
    • Building insight and overview of desired future capabilities to create winning experiences and products for our customers
    • Ensuring that needs, opportunities, and requirements from all business areas are discussed and prioritized relevant stakeholders.
    • Capturing great opportunities in backlog so it is aligned with the technology and research areas so that synergies and challenges are considered with regards to enable future experiences through capabilities in the platforms.
    • Ensuring that concepting is initiated timely to support a competitive roadmap
    • Being part of defining priorities for every development increment, setting direction for development ARTs
    • Adjusting ongoing activities and priorities when new needs and opportunities are discovered
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices, and proactively propose improvements to existing products or processes.
  • Maintain overview of competitive landscape of product offerings in terms of marketed experiences and mapping to equivalent GN offerings/gaps across products and generations.

To succeed in the role, we imagine that you have solid technical skills, business and product understanding and see yourself in most, if not all, of the following attributes:

  • A strong desire to learn, understand, and improve your knowledge
  • Experience with complex product portfolios comprising of multiple products and combining both hardware and software solutions
  • Strong communicative mindset and ability to manage stakeholders proactively and effectively
  • Ability to work across functions and disciplines at all employee levels and engage with senior management in larger organizations
  • Experience with innovation management and prioritization
  • Have an MSc. in Engineering or other similar and relevant education, given our product systems are highly complex innovative technical systems
  • Have some years of experience with development and/or product management
  • Familiarity with project management tools and Agile methods
  • Experience with signal processing or embedded software development
  • Have an excellent command of English, both spoken and written
