Senior Project Manager

Reporting to the Partner of Landscape, the Senior Project Manager of BIG Landscape holds a key role in BIG as the person responsible for the overall resource planning, administration, reporting and prioritization in the BIG Landscape department.

This position is directly linked to the Gelephu Mindfulness City masterplan in the Kingdom of Bhutan.

Under supervision from Partner in Charge, the PM has primary responsibility for the project management and coordination of deliverables, tasks and priorities for the team in SD/DD/CD/CA phases, all of the above according to budget and design intent.
The PM is also overall responsible for managing and coordinating client & collaborator relations.

Product

• Ensuring adherence to project schedule and phase completion, including:
• Regular liaison with the client and key project participants
• Arrange for feedback from the client on completion including client satisfaction review.
• Agree the roles, responsibilities and authority of senior members of the team.
• Know and understand contractual conditions, deliverables, deadlines and success criteria for the project’s implementation and develop and manage project schedule accordingly
• Guide the implementation of the architectural concept for the project in accordance with the design intent and ambition
• Responsible for suggested solutions is validated for constructability and compliant with ambitions.
• Plan, clarify and coordinate sub-consultant deliverables in collaboration with Project Architect.
• Being familiar with all material financial and commercial issues related to the project.

Process

• Ensures project milestones are met at the right quality and according to BIG standards and external requirements. Includes:
• Reporting to BIG Design and Technical Committee by submitting updates related to project management strategies
• Establish project and milestone plan and subsequently track progress and adherence to project schedule
• Ensure financial ambition factor is delivered, incl. monitoring time and costs in project as well as reviewing invoices to and from BIG
• Contribute to interdisciplinary coordination and good collaboration with internal as well as external stakeholders
• Managing both BIG & Client design and technical related expectations
• Ensure quality assurance and control (task potentially delegated to QA responsible person in team)
• Establish workflows and communication protocols
• Guide team structure, work-plan and task assignments

People

• Responsible for the performance and engagement of the team members, includes:
• Together with PA and PD, ensure that the team understand overall design intent, requirements, milestones as well as roles and responsibilities among team members
• Kick-off, maintain and energize a well-functioning team
• Manage and allocate resources and register staffing requirements in liaison with Operations Director, Includes monitoring timely and correct time registration and management of absence
• Know and understand skillset of team members and ensure this is applied to its max, provide ongoing feedback to help the individual improve/adjust skills and performance

The Senior Project Manager at BIG takes ownership of:

• Production of contract documents
• Management and mentorship of team members
