As our new Head of Transfer Pricing and International Tax Operations, you will be responsible for transfer pricing planning, advisory and compliance, and oversee setting up compliant and efficient processes for our expanding portfolio of countries, in which Ascendis Pharma will operate, as part of our Tax Control Framework. You will play a key role in advising the business and other group functions in planning, coordinating, and managing tax matters; and you will work in close cooperation with the rest of the Finance organization to ensure efficiency and compliance.

You will become part of Group Tax which is responsible for global tax affairs in the Ascendis Group. The team is situated in Hellerup (Denmark) working with colleagues in the US and throughout Europe. This is a newly created role that reports directly to the VP & Head of Tax.

As a key member of the Ascendis Pharma Group Tax team, you will be working in a fast-paced environment, collaborate with cross-functional, global teams who work together to achieve extraordinary results.

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Advise on and plan transfer pricing transactions in cooperation with Financial Operations teams including ensuring transfer pricing documentation is in place.
  • Ensure efficient processes for international tax operations are in place, as part of our Tax Control Framework, in cooperation with other colleagues in Group Tax.
  • Advise business colleagues on tax matters related to global expansion and various international projects.
  • Manage corporate tax and transfer pricing audits outside Denmark.
  • Be a pro-active business partner with non-Finance functions, particularly our Commercial Organization in Europe.

Qualifications and Skills:
You hold a relevant academic degree – probably a Master of Accounting, a Law Degree or Finance/Law (Cand. Merc. Jur) and have 8+ years of similar experience with transfer pricing and international tax operations in an inhouse function. You master MS Office and have a willingness to learn and use new software systems, applied in managing tax. You are proficient in English at a professional level, both written and spoken.

Key competencies:
You are analytical with eye for details, while also being able to think holistically and strategically. You have experience working with and maneuvering between several countries’ tax laws and working with tax authorities and external tax advisers efficiently. You are ready to work hands-on with various tax-matters in cooperation with other tax colleagues and colleagues in Global Finance.

As a person, you are a highly motivated and proactive person who enjoys being challenged and working in collaborative environments, and you are able to structure, prioritize, follow up, and complete your tasks independently. You have a positive and entrepreneurial mindset and thrive in an informal, open environment where innovation and change are key.

Travel: 15 - 20 days per year.
