Your challenges
In Develop & Optimize (D&O) we excel in the four Cs - Customer, Complexity-out, Cost-out and CO2-out. To coach and conduct a team of highly skilled project managers, we need an experienced project and portfolio manager that can steer operations today and continuously improve for tomorrows demands.

As our new Senior Manager, you will report directly to our Senior Director, Sloped Roof Windows & Product Complexity (Christian Dalsgaard Johansen). Employed at our Østbirk location, you will be heading our Sloped Roof Windows, Wood Project Execution team consisting of 6 employees (Senior Project Managers and Technical Project Managers), who are also all located in Østbirk. From 2025 you will work in our new and modern LKR innovation house (also located in Østbirk), which will bring various VELUX functions together into a unique and collaborative environment that empowers exploration, creativity and collaborative work.

Your overall responsibilities will mainly be within:

• Drive Cost-out, Complexity out, CO2-out, Product Quality improvements and Upgrade projects.
• Project portfolio management (wood project execution) and alignment with PMO in Products & Innovation.
• Resource management of 6 FTE.
• Coaching your team members in the skills of navigating the matrix as project manager.
• Continuous improvement of operations.
• Stakeholder management cross functionally across Products & Innovation and VELUX.

In this role, you can expect approx. 20 days per year of travel, primarily within Europe, to our production locations.

Your qualifications
To be successful in this role, it is important that you

• bring 5 or more years of experience as people manager, and in addition, bring a practical background as project manager (certification is not required – we value practical experience more).
• bring a holistic perspective, seeing the connections between various functions.
• find it natural to coach others, e.g. in how to navigate a matrix organization as project manager.
• bring an affiliative leadership style, where listening and understanding is key.
• enjoy being physically present at our location, and close to your team on daily basis.
• are a qualified manager and project manager in a technical / product development environment.
• speak and write English proficiency.
