In MFT Energy, we trade energy to make markets efficient and to facilitate the green transition. We are looking for a Tools and Systems Developer to join our ambitious Intraday team with experienced colleagues, who strive to be the best every day.
The job as Tools and Systems Developer
As our new Tools and Systems Developer, you will become part of a professional ambitious team.
The team consists of traders manning our 24/7 desk, quantitative analysts developing models and strategies, software developers coding execution algorithms executing the positions from traders, models, and strategies, and tools and systems developers. In this role, you will be committed to writing clean and efficient code to build robust tools and systems for manual trading and fully automated algorithmic trading. The focus is on contributing to automizing our setup and operations while bridging the gap between quantitative models and trading. Your work areas will be creating and maintaining core business tools and processes.
You will be reporting to our head of algorithmic trading.
Your key responsibilities
- Ensure continuous development of trading tools and systems (Python, SQL, VBA, etc.)
- Drive the switch from Excel-based tools to web-based tools and applications
- Contribute to the development of the systems needed to strengthen and further expand our algorithmic trading
- Ensure sufficient maintenance of trading tools and systems
- Ensure good coordination of projects on which you are the main responsible
- Contribute with creativity and new thinking
Your qualifications and personal skills
- We imagine you have an educational background in Operations Management, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or similar where coding and problem-solving are at the core
- Some form of coding experience (Python, JavaScript, VBA, etc.) is beneficial
- Great experience with Excel is a plus
- A general interest in improving your coding skills within Python, SQL, VBA, etc.
- Strong analytic skills and an eye for detail
- The ability to work independently and structure your workload
- A positive and competitive attitude, but at the same time a valued team player
- Fluent in English, both spoken and written, as our company language is English
