Department Lead for IT Excellence & Digital Academy

Do you have strong experience with various IT development methodologies and an ability to bring the best into Arla’s ways of working day to day? Then you now have the great opportunity to lead our IT excellence and digital academy teams.

Arla IT Solutions is rapidly growing in both activity level and number of employees and we need a strong leader to ensure we foster efficient and collaborative ways of working. You will lead two teams, IT Excellence and Digital Academy, with the responsibility of among others developing our methodological toolbox, designing our ways of working, and training our colleagues to apply the methodologies in practice. In total, IT Excellence and Digital Academy consists of 14 colleagues located in Denmark and Gdansk, wherein a team lead is responsible for the Digital Academy team and reporting into you.

How you will make an impact
IT Excellence defines and governs our ways of working and upskill colleagues in Arla in how we deliver IT & digital projects. We run SAFE “the Arla way”, but try to adapt the delivery methodology to the individual project, and we are therefore enhancing our delivery models to cover a hybrid version of agile and waterfall we use for large scale programs with strict delivery timelines and roll out programs.

Digital Academy upskill colleagues across all Arla within digital, this include topics like Arla GPT, data governance and upskilling for Citizen Developers within reporting, automation and data science.

In your role as lead for these two teams, your primary responsibility include:

• Setting direction for the areas together with the business owners for IT Excellence and Digital Academy
• Analyzing ways of working and collaboration to come up with improvement initiatives to our ways of working
• Implement changes to our ways of working, driving the changes and transformations inside IT
• Driving strong collaboration with Agile Release Trains, cross trains, cross IT and cross Arla
• Lead, coach and inspire your employees and support their development

What will make you successful
You are an expert in project delivery methodologies, agile, SAFE, Waterfall and Hybrid methodologies to be able to use the best from all, to develop Arla ways of working in the future. You have a lean and efficiency mindset and strive for continuous improvements. You know your own strengths and weaknesses in relation to people, both in relation to your teams and your stakeholder. By means of your strong communication and presentation skills, you have the ability to navigate through and act as a role model to your colleagues and trusted advisor to your stakeholders. Besides, a global mindset is required due to the global nature of the role. Further, you:

• Have experience from doing delivery of IT projects and programs, either as delivery lead or business change manager, and have had agile coaching or similar roles as well
• Have several years of experience as a leader of people
• Are certified in SAFE and preferably also other delivery methods
• Are able to travel to manage the team located in Gdansk approximately once a month
• Possess strong English skills in speaking and writing
