Your challenges

At the VELUX Group , our Center of Excellence in Supply is committed to ensuring manufacturing excellence across our many production companies globally. As our current Director of CoE Assembly is taking on new challenges internally in VELUX, we are looking for you to take over this exciting and challenging area!

As our new CoE Director, you will head our Center of Excellence Assembly team consisting of 9 people – covering both technical specialists as well as project managers. You will join the CoE Management Group consisting of CoE Directors within other technical areas, and you will report directly to our CoE Senior Director (Morten Jensen). As CoE Director, you will be responsible for deploying and executing the Supply Engineering and Product Introduction (SE&PI) strategies and ensure the CoE Assembly deliveries and performance.

Your department’s overall responsibilities are mainly within:

• Identifying, assessing, selecting and implementing new production equipment for new products / assembly lines.
• Ensuring business continuation for current assembly lines.
• Overseeing projects, e.g. towards our Develop and Optimize organization within topics such as cost-out, Co2 reduction, optimization etc., all with impact on our assembly lines.

On daily basis, you will:

• Head and supervise the CoE Assembly team.
• Create the work environment and conditions for your team to thrive and perform.
• Motivate and guide your team members and maintain and develop competencies within the team.
• Participate in cross functional meetings and manage our key stakeholders, e.g. within our CoE functions, e.g. our D&O organization, VELUX Innovation Centre (VINC), Advanced Material Technologies, Production companies and other SE&PI departments.
• Ensure communication upstream and downstream.

In this role, you will be based in Østbirk, Denmark, but for the right profile, a hybrid work setup will be possible with remote work 1-2 days per week. If located in Denmark, you should expect approx. 15-30 days per year of travel, primarily within Europe, to visit strategic partners, suppliers, and our production locations.

Your qualifications
You have a strong background within setting up production flows preferably within Assembly. You thrive working with transitions where your vision, commitment and enthusiasm will be a beacon for employees and co-workers to follow.

To be successful in this role, it is important that you

• bring a technical and practical background, which has given you an insight into assembly lines and production flow designs. Ideally, you have been involved in setting up new assembly / production lines during transitions and adjustments to new or adjusted products.
• are able to work on both a conceptual level and an operational level – bridging the gap between the two, ensuring that concepts will also materialise at the end of the day.
• are a seasoned manager in a technical function.
• bring a holistic perspective, seeing the connections between various functions, including how production flows work.
• bring some experience within Lean Manufacturing, Design for Manufacturing, Automation, Assembly Technologies or similar.
• thrive in a role, where you interact with and influence stakeholders on all levels of the organization.
• have several years of experience as People Manager, preferably managing large and complex transformation projects.
• speak and write English proficiency.
