We are searching for a
Software Engineer
with experience in Cobol development.
This position is based at our friendly office in Warsaw, Poland and you will join our Team Corporate Actions. The Corporate Actions area is in charge of developing and maintaining applications in the corporate actions area. We have a mix of applications on different platforms like mainframe applications, frontend applications, Java applications and COTS solutions.
The job offers the possibility to work in a cross-national team with approximately 50/50 allocation in Denmark and Poland. We are inspired by the Safe agile principles in our way of working. We support more platforms and technologies which gives the opportunity to develop further skills. Right now, we work on a Corporate Actions SCORE project to finalize in 2025. The team consist of IT developers, business analysts, product owner and scrum master and is a part of the Wealth Management and Trading domain. You will work closely with business analysts, other developers in the team, software supplier and teams with operational responsibility.
At BEC, we prefer to collaborate often in the office, but we also keep the opportunity to work remotely up to 8 days per month.
Your primary tasks and responsibilities will include:
- Develop and maintain applications in the corporate actions area. This position will primary be on the mainframe platform with Cobol as the programming language.
- Maintenance like incident handling and support.
- Inform and communicate with the stakeholders with a service minded approach.
- Expect travel to Denmark 1-2 times a year.
To succeed you will have:
- 4-7 years of experience as a Mainframe developer
- Experience in COBOL development
- Preferably, you have an IT educational background at bachelor or master level. You may have experience working with integrations to 3rd party applications
- Some Java knowledge or eager to learn it
- You are structured and analytic
- Able to communicate with stakeholders about tech stuff
- Openminded towards platforms and programming languages
- Experience in working in an agile development team
With colleagues in the team distributed in Denmark and Poland, you must master English at a high level both in writing and orally.
