Background:
For our customers Habitus we are looking for a Data and Analytics Engineer in the Data & AI Team to help the unit support the business in achieving their strategic goals.

Habitus is on a rapid growth journey and as part of their strategic initiatives is accelerating efforts in the domain of Data, AI, and Automation to ensure that business stakeholders have actionable insights at their fingertips and can leverage AI and automations to free up more time for impactful and mission-critical work.

To support this initiative, Habitus has established the Data & AI team to own and lead all projects and initiatives within the sphere of Data, AI, and Automation.

The Role of the Data and Analytics Engineer in Data & AI:
The Data and Analytics Engineer in this team is primarily responsible for managing their cloud data platform and making sure extraction, load services, and integrations are running smoothly and cost-optimized, as well as for delivering scalable data models for use in BI, analysis, ML, and reverse ETL.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Owning the full data model lifecycle from development to deployment and continuous optimization following best practices for model design, testing, performance, and documentation using dbt.
• Collaborating with Data Analysts and business stakeholders to translate business requirements into qualified technical specifications for data model design.
• Collaborating with external technical consultants to provide ML-ready core models.
• Ensuring data models are delivered in a timely fashion and in accordance with product roadmaps and deadlines.
• Ensuring their extraction and load services are running smoothly and are optimized to reduce cost.
• Contributing to the design and setup of their cloud data platform, Snowflake.
• Managing databases and compute resources in Snowflake making sure cost is kept in check.
• Working closely with IT on implementing and monitoring security policies throughout their cloud data services.
• Developing custom automation scripts using Python and e.g., Selenium to reduce manual processes across the business.
• Contributing to the development and implementation of governance policies.

Your background:

• 1+ years of experience with data sync and orchestration tools (UI based).
• 2+ years of experience with SQL and Python.
• 1+ years of experience with data model development.
• Practical knowledge of data warehouse design and best practice principles.

It would be an extra plus if you:

• Have experience with Snowflake and dbt.
• Have experience with version control systems and managing a code repo.
• Have experience with using Python for automation.
• Are proficient in Danish.

In your first 6 months at Habitus, you will be working on:

• Setting up their cloud data platform.
• Setting up data sync connectors to all core systems.
• Building the initial set of core dbt models for their first ML-driven data product.
• Collaborating with your colleagues in the Data & AI team to deliver needed data models for BI data products on their 2024 roadmap.
• Helping develop and deploy process automation scripts for core areas of the business.
