Exciting opportunity to join a leading and rapidly growing company in the field of radiopharmaceutical drug development!
We are seeking an experienced Department Manager with a strong background in chemistry/medicinal chemistry/radiochemistry to lead our talented team and advance our radiopharmaceutical capabilities.
Minerva Imaging’s vision is to become the leading contract research and contract development organization for targeted radionuclide therapy and imaging, enabling improved treatment regimens for cancer patients. Our focus is on the use of advanced animal models within oncology and cardiovascular diseases and in vivo molecular imaging for translational research and drug development.

We aim to excel in delivering customized cancer radiopharmaceutical research and serve as an extended research team to our collaborators. We have built a global leading R&D platform for targeted radionuclide therapy and Contract Development and Manufacturing (CDMO) to enable integrated planning and faster execution of promising new radionuclide theragnostic projects in close collaboration with leading researchers, biotech, and pharmaceutical companies.

Minerva is at the forefront of R&D in the theragnostic area. Our plans for the new Department Manager of Chemistry
As Department Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the chemistry department, ensuring the successful execution of projects related to radiopharmaceuticals. You will lead a growing team of radiochemists (currently, 6 FTE) and be responsible for the development of radiochemistry and medicinal chemistry capabilities in line with the business strategy of Minerva Imaging.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in chemistry/radiochemistry/medicinal chemistry, coupled with proven leadership and people management skills. Furthermore, you have a great understanding of the drug development value chain, particularly with regards to Chemistry, Manufacturing, and Controls (CMC).

To succeed in this role, you must be able to foster teamwork and drive a high-performance culture with clear goals and directions. Additionally, you possess excellent collaboration skills to be able to build and maintain close collaborations with stakeholders across Research, and with our Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization (CDMO) unit to ensure a seamless transition of research projects.

You will join the Research Management team, and thereby become an integrated part of the R&D activities and business at Minerva Imaging. You will report to the Chief Development Officer (CDO).

Tasks:

  • Lead and manage a growing team of radiochemists (currently, 6 FTE), ensuring a productive and collaborative work environment.
  • Oversee the development and execution of research projects and activities in the chemistry department.
  • Manage timelines, track resource activities, identify delays, provide status updates, and ensure the team is focused on the right tasks.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to align departmental goals with overall company objectives.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and scientific excellence.
  • Provide expert chemistry know-how, mentorship, and professional development opportunities for team members.
  • Contribute to strategic planning and develop our radiochemistry and medicinal chemistry capabilities at Minerva Imaging in line with company interests.

Experience:

  • MSc and/or PhD in chemistry, radiochemistry, medicinal chemistry, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in chemistry/medicinal chemistry/radiochemistry.
  • Proven track record of people management experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Industry experience from CRO, biotech and/or pharmaceutical companies is preferred.
  • Great understanding of the drug discovery and development process.
  • Practical experience with radiopharmaceuticals and isotopes is an advantage.

  • Have excellent communication skills.

  • English is required, and Danish is an advantage.
