Senior HR Advisor

Join us in this role where you’ll partner with Global HR business partners and leaders, offer support on local procedures, advise on country-specific legislation and compliance, engage with employment and development matters, and handle performance and stress cases. Your tasks will be key to maintaining our local expertise while supporting leaders with a global perspective.

Welcome to People & Culture
You’ll be part of People & Culture Malaysia where you, together with your colleagues, will deliver local HR Advisory to our Malaysia business. We’re responsible for setting and guiding the people related agenda for the different functions in close collaboration with business leaders. The team consists of one Senior HR Advisor and two COE Expert partners. You’ll be reporting to the Head of P&C, Malaysia, Singapore, and Vietnam. As a team, we work in a dynamic, global environment with a focus on delivering results and continuous development opportunities embedded in a modern and flexible working environment.

You’ll play an important role in:

  • providing immediate short-term guidance to local leaders with local relevant content on people processes and operating as the specialist and the key point of contact in the country/region on employment matters.
  • supporting on learning initiatives initiated by HR business partners to address the leadership development needs locally, competencies gaps, and sparring, by using standardised solutions.
  • performing the intake/investigation process of allegations, such as bullying and harassment, raised from both parties and preparing report for review, and outcome discussion with Head of People & Culture and HR business partner.
  • supporting and guiding implementation locally of the global policies where needed, and/or advising on any local law implications while ensuring local compliance with legislation
  • facilitating and/or advising on internal communications and training sessions to educate local leaders on HR policies, procedures, and best practices.

To succeed in the role, you:

  • have solid understanding of HR disciplines, principles, practices, and local employment laws/regulations in the country/region
  • are able to ensure compliance of all HR practices within legislative requirements, established standards, and guidelines by building a broad knowledge base on regional approaches and connecting with global People & Culture colleagues
  • are able to build and maintain positive relationships with leaders, employees, and People & Culture colleagues
  • have strong verbal and written communication skills to convey detailed information effectively
  • are able to analyse local situations, identify challenges, and provide impartial, timely solutions
  • are proficient in utilising data and analytics to drive and support local leaders.
