The Tower Module is maintaining and developing the complete Vestas tower program. The tasks range from structural development & engineering, tools development, project management over highly specialized FEM calculations, requirements specifications, DFMEA, test planning and execution to risk assessments and compilation of certification documentation. Tower Quality and Lifecycle Management is a sub-module to the Tower Module. The department is accountable for delivering quality improvement through the entire tower value chain. It is also responsible for leading continuous cost-out in Tower Module and secure governance and tools are in place. As Sub-module owner, you will have a team of 6 highly skilled engineers.

Responsibilities

• Product Quality - Handle quality issues occurring on the existing turbine fleet
• Design Quality - Provide technical Q-Assurance to enable design right first time
• Process Quality - Ensure lean and effective processes and training of colleagues
• Responsible for the cost-out strategy and roadmap in the Tower Module
• Continuous cost-out projects; ensure value chain impact is fully evaluated and reflected in business cases, (OPEX/CAPEX)

Qualifications

• Master’s / Bachelor’s in Structural / Mechanical / similar specialization
• 5 years of relevant experience in people management experience, including insight in project management
• Experience with running mid or large international engineering teams
• Experience with design of towers for wind turbines, or other mast/chimney structures
• QSE experience including quality tools and methodologies

Competences

• Solid people leadership and managerial skills
• Ability to scope and specify work to internal and external employees
• High degree of personal planning incl. the ability to assist on large projects
• Full commercial awareness and understanding of the business implications of the sub-module decisions
• Solid English communication skills, that enables you to convey issues to management and internal/external stakeholders
