The Nordic countries have been identified as a region with a sizeable consumer opportunity for future growth and a priority for Twinings investment for the coming years. As part of this growth journey we have built local organisational presence in the Nordics and established a local Nordic office in Stockholm.

We are now taking the next step in building our organization and are looking for a Commercial Finance Manager to join our team. The Commercial Finance Manager will report to our General Manager Nordics, based in central Stockholm, with a dotted line to the Finance Director of International markets. You will play a vital role in driving the financial performance and strategic direction of the Nordic business. You will work closely with the Commercial Manager and Marketing team in the local office as well as the Nordic distributors and the finance and cross-functional teams of International Markets in our Head Office in UK.

The Role
You will be a part of a local team of four people working in close collaboration with the head office in UK to deliver growth to the region. Since 2022, we've consistently improved business performance, targeting a 23/24 turnover of 200MSEK. We work through strong partnerships with local distributors, serving both retail and food service customers.

The purpose of this role is to act as a business partner to the Nordic business (part of International Markets Business Unit), providing insightful analysis, identifying growth opportunities, and implementing financial strategies to optimize profitability. This role requires a deep understanding of brand, market and category performance and the ability to oversee and deliver both short- and long-term plans, while tracking risks and opportunities.

As the Commercial Finance lead for the Nordics, you will play a crucial role in driving value-added plans through collaboration and influence. Your responsibilities include developing and executing sustainable growth strategies, transforming insights to actions, and improving efficiency. In this role you need to go beyond simply the provision of numbers or data to others.

Key responsibilities

  • Ensuring that the company’s financial reports are accurate and comply with all financial, tax and other regulatory policies and procedures, either as defined by ABF/TwO or by local legislation.
  • Ensures delivery of the Nordics region’s annual financial targets and maintains at all times a solid grip on short, medium-and long-term sales and profit delivery
  • Accountable for financial budgeting and forecasting, working in conjunction with the Nordics team to ensure financial forecasts are based on robust assumptions and revised as appropriate (and in a timely manner)
  • Manage risks and opportunities proactively, engages and drives the business to maximise opportunities and minimise risks ensuring stakeholder management with a ‘no surprises’ approach
  • Accountable for the timely preparation, reporting and analysis of financial performance each period:
  • Insightful analytical reporting of performance across the full P&L
  • Analysis of the key commercial drivers of performance including PVM, investigating and holding Regional Managers accountable for P&L variances
  • Partners, supports, and challenges the Nordics region head on performance management, commercial & financial strategy and the creation and execution of strategic plans
  • Utilize sell-in and sell-out data to build a robust performance understanding and insights on key commercial drivers and trends
  • Anticipate identify performance trends and issues, providing constructive challenges to the business
  • Lead financial analysis for NPD, drive RGM and marketing and trade spend efficiency initiatives through cross-functional collaboration
  • Responsible for compliance with the Anti-Bribery and Corruption (ABC) agenda and accountable for managing credit risk

  • Engage with the Twinings Finance community, promoting IM and expanding financial and leadership skills

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; MBA or relevant professional certification
  • 5+ years’ experience in a similar commercial finance/business management role preferably in FMCG Food & Beverage industry
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with the capability to influence and collaborate across departments
  • Proficiency in financial modelling and data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI and Nielsen)
  • An entrepreneurial and creative mindset with a collaborative working style
