About the role
As a Terminal Continuous Improvement Specialist you will be part of standardising, simplifying, and implementing process efficiency in the terminal processes. The improvements and best practices identified are to be rolled out and implemented across the terminals to enable further digitalisation of the processes to deliver on the terminal efficiency program.
In this role you will be part of defining and implementing the continuous improvement approach and toolbox in the terminals and support local improvement initiatives. The continuous improvement approach will be a standardised approach adapted to the type of operation, while at the same time consider local conditions in the terminal.
When working with improvements a structured approach needs to be applied from describing the problem to be solved, understand the customer requirements (internal and external), and baseline performance, analysing and understanding the underlying causes to defining the future standardised process and finding the requirements and right solution to address the problem.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support defining and implement the continuous improvement approach for the DFDS Terminals, spanning from selecting the tools to be used, creating relevant material and providing the training of the local teams in using these.
- Support terminals implementing the terminal way of working covering operational excellence and standard processes and not least sustaining the new way of working.
- Make sure the right tools and capabilities are present in the global terminal organisation to manage improvement initiatives or projects successfully.
- Be part and work closely together with rest of the Terminals team to create a sustainable impact on the terminal way of working going from efficiency, safety, sustainability, and digitalisation.
- Be a part of the Terminals community and closely liaising with the Terminals to ensure that we support the terminals delivering on the terminals of tomorrow by leading and driving continuous improvement initiatives with local terminal team or across terminals.

The person for this position will have the following qualifications:
- Proven experience in continuous improvement methodologies (e.g. Six Sigma, Lean)
- Knowledge and experience in managing projects.
- Have excellent analytic and problems-solving skills and a data driven mindset.
- Good stakeholder and change management skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Flexibility to travel to support the local terminals.
- Desire to play a critical role in delivering tangible results to the terminal organisation through improvements.
- Is a quick learner, as many different projects, terminals, departments need to be managed at the same time.
- Excellent at English
- Formal education on minimum bachelor level or equivalent within relevant field.
