Dalberg Consultants and Senior Consultants live and work around the world, creating a network of local experience anchored by our offices in Africa, Asia, Europe, MENA and the Americas. Dalberg combines on the ground perspective and lived experience from top-tier professional services firms and leading academic institutions to create actionable solutions to the world’s most pressing issues.

Typical qualifications for Consultant / Senior Consultant:

  • 3/4+ years of professional experience, including 1+ years within advisory services, preferred
  • Strong analytical abilities, both quantitative and qualitative
  • Ability to present information in an insightful and structured manner, both written and oral
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team
  • Sensitivity to the political and cultural environments of international public agencies or similar complex environments
  • A passion for driving social impact and equity, typically evidenced by a strong interest in and/or prior exposure to global or local impact issues
  • Experience living and working in different communities
  • Demonstrated fluency with English speaking and writing skills

What You Will Do and How You Will Grow
Consultants and Senior Consultants are essential contributors to our organization, spearheading the delivery of inventive solutions and offering analytical excellence to our clients. They take the lead in research and analysis, molding the team's understanding with both quantitative precision and insights gleaned from engaging stakeholders. As those who dive deep into the issues, Consultants and Senior Consultants think critically and creatively to develop insights based on their findings from the research process. They gain a broad knowledge base that cuts across sectors and geographies while driving the core of every project’s work.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead research and complex analyses on key development-related topics
  • Develop and deliver structured communication to clients
  • Coach junior team members
  • Contribute to developing our partnership with clients and peer organizations
  • Actively contribute towards Dalberg’s firm-building initiatives

While both Consultants and Senior Consultants play vital roles within the team, the main distinction lies in the additional responsibilities and level of ownership expected of Senior Consultants. Senior Consultants are tasked with independently overseeing workstreams, cultivating relationships with clients, and providing leadership, and mentoring and managing junior team members, as needed.

Our current opportunities are in New York, San Francisco, Seattle, and Washington, DC.

Salary: The annual compensation for these roles range from $85,000-104,000 with up to a 10% annual performance-based bonus for the Senior Consultant role. Our salary structure is designed to be in line with that of non-profit and social impact organizations, reflecting our dedication to social impact work. This is distinct from management consultancies, which predominantly cater to commercial clients.

Candidate applications will be considered on a rolling basis. Candidates selected will be invited for a number of interviews to test analytical and conceptual thinking skills through consulting case questions, and to discuss interests and experience. A candidate’s specific title and level of entry will be assessed during the interview process.

You are expected to work near one of our offices and work 2-3 days/week in the office.

Employment in Dalberg’s US offices are contingent on the candidate having the requisite authorization to live and work in the US as well as possessing fluency in English.
