Chartering Manager

You will be reporting to Head of Dry Cargo, West Coast North America.

The tasks that await you

• Establish and maintain external as well as internal relationships (customers, brokers, owners, internal stake holders etc.)
• Maximise earnings on own tonnage.
• Create direct value doing short term contracts, tonnage and cargoes.
• Business travels to be expected.
• Obtain and share market information.
• Analyse market research, formulate and share market view.
• Closely collaborate with OPS on ongoing voyages to proactively optimize result and ensure high level service to client.
• Develop Strategic trades to enable growth globally.
• Coordinate and position our fleet in close cooperation with the team.

Your competences and core qualifications
As a person, you are outgoing and take pride in building good relationships with relevant stakeholders - internal and external. You are committed and able to work alone, while still prioritising the needs of the team before own agenda. It is energising for you to coordinating and specialise your communication to ensure an optimised workflow.

Apart from this you have:

• A minimum of 3 years relevant experience within Dry Cargo Chartering, preferably within the Supramax / Panamax segment.
• A proven history within follow areas:
  • Regional knowledge – West Coast North America / Central America, is a good to have.
  • Trading and Optimising earnings on tonnage and cargoes
  • Key customer relationships
  • Basic understanding of hedging and FFA.
