Junior OT Systems Engineer

We are looking for a Junior OT Systems Engineer to make an impact that matters.

We are currently 500+ employees across 31 different nationalities and counting, and we are looking for a Junior OT Systems Engineer to join the Operational Technology team in Sønderborg or Kolding.

Operational Technology is a small team responsible for the digital infrastructure in Better Energy’s power plants and control room, including SCADA, and data networking. We work closely with the rest of the Operational Management department and commissioning team to ensure that our plants are running optimally every day of their 40-year lifetime. Furthermore, we also participate in the specification of digital systems for new PV plants. You have an important role in this mission.

You will participate in maintaining and improving power plants in operation. While many tasks can be performed remotely, traveling on-site to plants is to be expected.

How you will make a difference in Better Energy
As our new colleague, you are responsible for maintaining the digital assets in our power plants in the Nordic region (DK, SE). This includes network configuration and troubleshooting, as well as the maintenance of sensors and controllers which use the network.

Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:

• Commission and test of network infrastructure on-site, including patching
• Corrective maintenance of network components
• System integration
• Automate data collection
• Troubleshoot networks and control systems
• Participate in emergency preparedness exercise
• Backup / Restore / Patch firmware of digital assets
• Document network configurations

The ideal candidate will have the following professional qualifications:

• Network specialist (L2/L3)
• Industrial communication protocols
• Control Systems
• Real-time systems

Additionally, we find it important that you possess the following competencies:

• Knowledge of the energy industry a clear advantage
• Relevant experience with virtualization technology
• Next Generation firewall knowledge an advantage (otherwise we will train you)
• Security-minded
• Able to work independently
• Able to maintain remote working relationships
• Comfortable with change
• Proficient in English, ability to communicate orally in Danish an advantage
