Consultancy in Clinical Oncology combined with a clinical professorship in Clinical Oncology with special focus on Immuno-Oncology

A clinical position as consultant at the Department of Oncology at Copenhagen University Hospital – Herlev and Gentofte Hospital is open for appointment from as soon as possible.
The position is combined with a 5-year externally funded position as clinical professor of Clinical Oncology with special focus on Immuno-Oncology at the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, University of Copenhagen.
It is a requirement that the applicant is accepted for appointment of both the professorship and the consultancy.

About the department
The Department of Cancer Treatment has around 500 employees, 95 of whom are doctors. The ward is divided into 6 clinics, each of which is led interdisciplinary by a senior physician, a ward nurse, and a leading secretary. The Radiotherapy Clinic is part of the department and is one of the largest in the Nordic countries. The department has an in-patient unit with 33 beds.
Clinical functions and focus areas of the department
The applicant must work in Clinic 5, which takes care of patients with malignant melanoma, pancreatic cancer, and phase 1 trials. Emphasis will be placed on the future consultant knowing patients with malignant melanoma and participating in national and international collaboration on clinical trials.
Emphasis will be placed on qualifications within management, communication, and the ability to collaborate both interdisciplinary and with cooperating departments.
Research and teaching
With the new position as consultant in Oncology and clinical professor in Clinical Oncology with special focus on Immuno-Oncology the Department of Oncology wishes to strengthen leadership in clinical research and teaching.
Qualifications
The vacant position is wanted to be filled by a broadly trained and experienced consultant in oncology or internal medicine with documented oncological experience.
Conditions
In order to be considered, the applicant must send an application to both the Faculty (the professorship) and to the hospital (the consultancy) cf. the simultaneously advertised position of the professorship. Appointment is conditioned by the fact that the applicant obtains both positions. This also applies to the applicants who are already employed as consultants at Copenhagen University Hospital – Herlev Gentofte Hospital.
Salary and conditions of employment as consultant are as agreed between the Danish Regions and the Danish Association of Medical Specialists and between the Capital Region/Region Zealand and University of Copenhagen.
As clinical professor at least 50 % of the working time will be allocated to academic tasks (e.g., research, teaching, evaluation tasks and communication with the public) in agreement with the Head of Department of Department of Clinical Medicine at the University of Copenhagen. The remaining time will be allocated for clinical work in agreement with the head of department of oncology. The clinical professor will receive secretarial or technical support equivalent to 50 % of a full-time secretary position from the Department of Oncology. Additional support and details on the working conditions must be negotiated with the head of the Department of Oncology, Copenhagen University Hospital – Herlev and Gentofte Hospital.
