Core Responsibilities
As Senior Manager - Sustainability Assessments you will be responsible for the environmental assessments of materials and new technologies to be screened/developed in future, at different stages of the development (pre-assessment, intermediary and full assessments).

You will work closely with Procurement and Program Management as an advisor and the corporate function of Sustainability as a sparring partner and input provider. More specifically you will:

  • As a member of the core team in the materials development program, perform environmental assessments based on information shared by material suppliers and technology owners.
  • Perform environmental assessments related to the materials re-use and recycling in LEGO production.
  • Collaborate closely with the Sustainability team to provide operational and application insights to inform guiding principles for sustainable materials assessments.
  • Represent the Materials R&D team in materials development programs with collaboration partners, consortia and at conferences.

You will join the Materials Department in the Engineering and Quality organization in Billund. The department is responsible for the materials in LEGO® elements: polymers, master-batches and decoration inks.

The purpose of the department is to develop and maintain robust, safe and high-quality materials for current and new production technologies. The department contributes to the sustainability ambitions of The LEGO Group by developing sustainable materials.

Do you have what it takes?
To be successful in this position, we imagine a person experienced in performing LCA’s and environmental assessments, who has solid understanding of plastics and chemicals production. You have strong collaboration skills and are able to establish positive relationships with partners and colleagues at all levels. In addition, you bring:

  • Min. 6 years of experience with LCA’s and/or environmental assessments, preferably related to chemical processes and consumer products
  • Min. 6 years of experience with working in a production organization
  • Ideally, experience with working in the chemical industry
  • Strong communication skills, ability to develop professional communication material for senior leadership and bridge dialogue between business areas
  • Proficiency in English written and spoken
