Further development of our risk management system, carrying out risk assessment, meeting the requirements from NIS 2 and CER directives, and execution of exercises are essential focus areas in the role as Preparedness Specialist, which will apply for all operating assets under O&M within all Better Energy’s markets.

You will join the fast-growing Operational Management department, where you will be placed in the new “Preparedness & Crisis Management” team and report to the manager of the team. Your primary task will be to develop further on our risk management system, ensuring we comply to the new updated executive orders from DEA (Energistyrelsen) and requirements within all Better Energy’s markets.

It is the team’s ambition and mission to deliver a world class holistic preparedness and crisis management approach that continuously resists the threats and incidents facing O&M and contribute to business continuity.

The team will proactively and continuously evolve the preparedness, Information and Operation technologies (IT/OT networks) and cyber security activities, ensuring compliance to relevant legislation, standards, directives, and requirements within all Better Energy’s markets.

You will be located at one of our offices in Sønderborg, Kolding or Copenhagen with possibility of working from home.

How you will make a difference in Better Energy
Ensuring the team implements a robust business continuity system and keeps evolving preparedness in Operation and Information technologies, ensuring compliance to authorities in all operating countries.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Provide input to Strategy, Vision and Mission in the Preparedness and Crisis Management team.
• Provide input and help develop, implement, and update the Crisis Management system for O&M in all operating countries.
• Contribute to developing, implementing, optimising, and updating of the Business Continuity Management System in Operational Management (all operating countries)
• Continuously implementing, maintaining, and developing the set-up for SINE terminals throughout Better Energy.
• Optimise, update, and develop the current Exercise and Awareness plan and execute the exercises in all operating countries.
• Overall responsibility for developing, implementing, optimising, and updating the set-up for Risk and BIA Management in O&M in collaboration with corporate Risk.
• Be updated on the general preparedness and Cyber security (NIS II) requirements in all operating countries.
• Participate in Audits with DEA.
• Physical security in and around the Control Centre.

So, who are we looking for?
You have experience working with preparedness (preferable within the electricity sector), but you could also be a recent graduate from a relevant education (e.g. Katastrofe- og Risikomanager). Experience with or relevant education regarding risk management and risk assessment will be highly advantageous.

Besides being a great team player and comfortable with deadlines, you also have good relationship building skills, as you will be performing a number of cross organisational work with a variety of different stakeholders. It’s also important that you can work independently and remain calm when incidents or crises occur, and that you have a systematic and analytical approach.

Additionally, it will be emphasised if you have the following competencies:

• Technical expertise: Understanding and knowledge of the power grid.
• Passion for sustainability: Genuine passion for sustainability, the environment, and a desire to make a positive impact through your work.

In addition, you must be able to communicate fluently in both English and Danish.
