IT Data Engineer (Temporary Position – 2 years) We now have an unique position as a Data Engineer, to support, design and implementation of scientific data management (SDM) principles in the CMC and Research areas.
In close cooperation with the SDM core team, you will be crucial in defining data-pipelines together with Data Scientists and scripting workflows using e.g., Python, SQL, SCALA in an Azure Databricks environment. The position is a 2-year temporary position.

You will be part of a smaller team consisting of a Solution Architect, Data Scientist, Software Developer, and we expect you to take broad responsibility in the development and maintenance of our data foundation.

Primary Responsibilities

• Analyze and organize raw data
• Build and design data pipelines
• Maintaining datasets
• Build algorithms and prototypes
• Extracting, transforming and loading data from the various data sources
• Integrating data transfers between internal and external systems and applications.
• Explore ways to enhance data quality and reliability
• Identify opportunities for data acquisition
• Collaborate with Data Scientists and IT-architects

Preferred Qualifications

• A relevant educational background. You might be newly graduated or have some years of experience in e.g., Software development.
• Strong analytic skills related to working with datasets.
• Knowledge of programming in Python.
• Skills in data querying, SQL, etc.

It will be considered an advantage if you have experience with:

• Knowledge of Databricks and Spark.
• Cloud Services (Azure DevOps, Azure SaaS, etc.).
• Experience with data modelling and leveraging of large volumes of data is preferred.
