Head of External Spend Management

We are further strengthening our Sourcing leadership team and looking for an Head of External Spend Management.

The mission for Sourcing & Partnerships team @ Tietoevry is to Maximize Value and Minimize Waste and in this new role you will have a critical role in ensuring that this mission will be delivered while we continue to transform our Sourcing capabilities in accordance to our strategic agenda.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver insight from existing spend data: external spend and cashflow analysis, reporting & business intelligence.
• Build forward-looking view on key category/supplier future developments: Drive external spend and cashflow related category/supplier specific market analysis & insight creation process.
• Facilitate supplier related costs & cashflow forecasting & target setting process in close collaboration with business unit controllers and overall finance community.
• Proactively identify external spend and cashflow optimisation opportunities.
• Build financial improvement opportunity pipeline and secure/follow-up delivery of agreed pipeline initiatives according to business case targets.
• Actively network & collaborate with other business controllers in the company, become valued contributor in the broader finance & business controlling network.
• Contribute to overall sourcing performance and continued companywide sourcing capability transformation as active member of the sourcing & partnerships leadership team.

Your new team and leader
We operate as one, integrated Sourcing & Partnerships team. In this role you will report directly to CPO of Tietoevry, Jarkko Sakki.

Personality & working style
You are an engaging and business minded sourcing & operations finance leader with 10+ years of experience from relevant business controller role and a proven track record in sourcing, operational development & leading with data (analytics). You are:

• Doer who has bias for action & delivering impact – highly structured way-of-working, result oriented approach and independent (self-starter) working style.
• Influencer with great executive presence & solid business understanding – you have ability to communicate effectively both with executives and sourcing specialists and genuine desire & ability to deliver business impact to the whole company, not only within your own direct area of control.
• Highly analytical & fact-based – you can both see the big picture, identify long term trends and to drill down to drivers for the trends when needed. You never suffer from paralysis by analysis but rather use data to drive real business benefits and bring speed to decision making and execution.
• Result oriented project portfolio manager - Being able to identify new opportunities, create impact & effort prioritised implemen­ta­tion roadmaps and secure successful implementation of these initiatives.
• Team player who can contribute in leadership teamwork, also in areas outside of own direct responsibilities.

Experience & education

• Several years of business controlling and/or sourcing functional experience covering strategic sourcing (focus on value creation), spend reduction (focus on minimising TCO and maximising operational efficiency) and cashflow improvement (focus on optimising cashflow).
• Excellent knowledge on Sourcing best practises, supplier market intelligence, different pricing methodologies, cost benchmarking, target & should cost modelling and TCO analysis.
• Prior experience from creating executive friendly business insight & intelligence reports with AI and/or modern analytical tools & platforms (e.g. Power BI).
• Minimum 15 years of experience from working in international organisations with complex business models and matrix organisation
• Business Minded and Analytical mindset combined with highly structured way of working.
• M.Sc from relevant field.
• Fully proficient written and verbal English communication skills.
