Financial Controller within Renewables

Semco Maritime A/S

Are you experienced in financial controlling, and are you eager to apply it in performing business support? Do you thrive in a specialist role with responsibility for your own tasks and yet be a sparring partner on controlling in the business unit in general? And does being a team player and service minded in collaborations come as naturally to you as working structured and analytical with data? Then join us.

Your position
If you want to work in a dynamic environment characterized by growth, development, and foresight, you have come to the right place. We offer you a position in our Renewables division in Esbjerg, which works with projects in green energy. You will be part of the Controlling team with four colleagues, focusing on professional sparring and personal development, where there is room for both responsibility, ambition and smiles in everyday life.

Your tasks & responsibilities
Together with your colleagues you will take part in driving the financial controlling process. It goes from controlling our activities in Poland as well as transactions and invoicing on projects globally to analysis of financial accounts and providing support to the business unit. It means that you are the financial specialist with in-depth knowledge within your tasks as well as you can operate at a higher level in terms of contributing to the overall controlling collaboration in Renewables. Further, you will be a close sparring partner to the Manager as you continuously will be supporting her directly within specific controlling tasks with a high complexity.

Besides the controlling team in Esbjerg your primary collaborators will be Managers and controlling colleagues in Poland where your working days will include:

  • Controlling of project transactions and taking steps if corrections are needed
  • Monitoring existing Purchase Orders (PO) on EPCI projects and ensuring correct data
  • Analysis and follow-up on monthly financial accounts
  • Account reconciliation
  • Support to the business unit in Poland within business controlling
  • Developing and streamlining work processes in the controlling team
  • Creating process descriptions
  • Being part of the budgeting and forecasting process

Your profile & qualifications
To succeed you are motivated to take ownership of your tasks, where you always have control over structure, data and deadlines. You have a strong analytical eye and aim to deliver high quality with all details on point, and you can handle multiple tasks simultaneously without losing track. Equally important is your ability to create collaboration in your relationships; we are a service function, and therefore you are a motivated team player with an open, proactive, and solution-oriented approach to how you best contribute to projects and colleagues. With you on our team.

There can be various entry points to the position. For us, the most important thing is that you are educated in economics and experienced in financial controlling – preferably from a project business. Further, you are an experienced Excel user with excellent analytical skills enabling you to contribute to business discussions based on your data.

We are an international company where English is part of the communication. This does not necessarily mean that you master it at a high level; the most important thing is that you can make yourself understood in writing and speech, and that thrive in a multi-cultural environment. And since we are a large organization constantly growing, there will also be opportunities to develop in the direction that makes sense for you and the company if you are interested.
