The position
As the Director of Clinical BD & Outsourcing Integration, you will be responsible as a leader within the broader Clinical Operations Centre of Expertise (COE). You will work closely with cross-functional teams supporting the integration of clinical trials into our trial portfolio as a result of business development deals, and for overseeing aspects of outsourced tasks and services in clinical operations.

Your main responsibilities will include:

• Ensuring effective integration of studies into the Novo Nordisk portfolio as a result of business development deals
• Developing long and short-term operational strategies in partnership with the Project Areas and Clinical Outsourcing Management to manage and oversee the implementation of these strategies within Clinical Operations
• Supporting the operational risk management of business development integration and/or outsourcing by ensuring that relevant risk assessments and subsequent remediation is undertaken
• Collaborating with Project Areas to ensure operational compliance through the creation and revision of operational standard operating procedures (SOPs) related to business development integration and/or outsourcing in Clinical Operations
• Supporting the consistent and effective operational governance and oversight of clinical research organizations in regard to Clinical Operations outsourcing

Qualifications
To thrive and succeed in this role, you should have:

• Master's degree with extensive experience in global Development Operations in the pharmaceutical industry
• Considerable leadership experience and ability to inspire and motivate employees
• Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills combined with experience working in a project-oriented, international matrix organization and excellent written and verbal English skills
• Experience working in Trial Portfolio Management, including relevant outsourcing experience, is preferred
• Experience working and leading cross-organizational work representing Clinical Operations and/or Trial Management perspective is preferred

About the department
The Clinical Business Development and Outsourcing Integration Office works closely with key stakeholders to support global Clinical Operations in effectively integrating and outsourcing clinical studies. The team collaborates with other leads from across SVP Areas in Development to ensure compliant oversight and implementation of clinical studies that have come into the portfolio. As this is a newly established department you will be able to help shape its strategy and deliver at scale.
