Wind Turbine Technician

Join us in this role where you’ll play a pivotal role in servicing, maintaining, and troubleshooting the Vestas V164 platform on Walney 3 windfarm. You’ll work offshore in close camaraderie with supportive, committed colleagues where you’ll have ample opportunity to utilise your technical skills, whilst also having the chance to lead and develop a team of technicians, ensuring an optimised ‘first time fix rate’.

You’ll be part of the Power Plant 2 team where you, together with your colleagues, will form a diverse and inclusive operations and maintenance team where you’ll contribute to our safety culture and work with engineering specialists to enhance the performance of our wind farms. As a team, we strive to achieve our goals through a collaborative approach, which will support your personal opportunities and development, whilst maintaining our Guiding Principles and key values.
You’ll play an important role in:
- leading teams of technicians carrying out scheduled and reactive maintenance and ensuring a consistent high level of quality, efficiency, and safety across all our assets
- assisting the site operations team by gathering and feeding back as much information to improve our first-time fix rate
- maintaining and following the safety procedures and reporting any conditions, hazardous observations, and incidents in the HSE management system
- promoting utilisation and upskilling across our various platforms within the West Coast region UK
- diagnosing and troubleshooting electrical and mechanical turbine components.
To succeed in the role, you:
- have extensive knowledge and troubleshooting experience of the Vestas V164 platform
- have proven team leadership skills, are approachable, and a capable communicator with your team and other stakeholders
- can provide technical feedback and guidance to other members of our team to share learnings and peer development
- have a positive, proactive, and systematic approach to your daily tasks.
