Pandora A/S

Director, Internal Audit & Compliance Controlling City: Copenhagen V Country/Region: DK Application Deadline: 31. July 2024 Do you have a proven track record of navigating the internal audit landscape? Are you interested in joining Pandora's Global Business Finance team and playing a significant role in enhancing our company's financial evolution worldwide?

Your responsibilities
The department is responsible for identifying, monitoring and validating risks and controls in Pandora globally in close collaboration with key stakeholders from clusters and functional areas. The audit team is responsible for providing assurance based on Pandora’s global controlling landscape, through audits of financial information, tests and valuation of physical assets, review of internal and regulatory requirements, process validation and other compliance tasks. The audits are carried out globally across all markets within Pandora, ensuring that financial, fraudulent and regulatory compliance risks have been properly mitigated and policies have been adhered to.

We aim not only to identify issues in our audits but also to play a vital part of the solution, being partners with the business when designing mitigating actions to close the gaps.

The main pillars of responsibilities are:

  • Substantive audit procedures including on/off-site visits to markets, warehouse and manufactory.
  • Control effectiveness of internal and external processes, identifying gaps and mitigating actions.
  • Regulatory compliance review such as Code of Conduct, Anti-Money Laundering, Conflict of Interests, Bookkeeping act and more.
  • Facilitating Audit Committee meetings and preparing material for the meetings; being a trusted partner to the Committee on all compliance matters.
  • Participating in various projects supporting Pandora strategic pillars, e.g. SAP implementation, automation, local programs, governance setup, fast close etc.
  • Designing action plans and sustainable solutions for identified gaps, supporting the business in rectifying issues.
  • Internal compliance review such as adherence to policies within Travel & Entertainment, Segregation of Duties, Schedule of Authority, cost approval systems etc.
  • Pandora global Whistleblower process including reporting and forensic investigation.
  • Being a trusted and valuable business partner with our colleagues in the business, basically driving an internal “call center” for all our colleagues in need of support.

The role will lead a team of approximately 10 people, and will report to the Senior Vice President of Corporate Finance. You will also have direct interactions with the Audit committee, as well as our external auditors. The role is based in Copenhagen.

Something about you:

  • You are outgoing with strong communication skills and are able to speak with people from all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to present to, and have discussions with, senior stakeholders and top management.
  • It is vital that you are able to boil down complex issues into a simple presentation - identifying and prioritizing the essence of the problem and design solid mitigating solutions.
  • You should be able to keep multiple balls in the air simultaneously, enjoying working in a high pace environment with numerous stakeholders and shifting priorities.
  • You have high level of integrity, and are passionate about doing the right thing, always.

Experience and education:
We are looking for a skilled team player who is able to strike the balance between the theoretical and pragmatic approach.

Furthermore, we hope to see the following in your profile:

  • Holder of a relevant university degree, ideally Certified Public Accountant, kept updated since certification.
  • Extensive audit work experience from a similar role (at least 5+ years), as well as from external audit firm (at least 5+ years). Both experiences are required to ensure an adequate combination of the theoretical and pragmatic angle.
  • Vast insights into process validation and the ability to obtain an overview of complex situations.
  • Strong analytical skills, good overview, critical sense and ability to deal with complex issues.
  • Ability to speak and write profound English.

The team:
You will be part of an exciting business area and work in an international hub of can-do spirited, passionate and performance-driven people. We are a department of 12 people located in Copenhagen, US and Thailand, who work closely together, help each other out and appreciate an informal and humorous tone.

Pandora offers an exciting and challenging role in a fast-moving, international environment. You will be part of a dynamic team, working in close cooperation with a strong organization where quality and integrity are significant qualities. We are a dynamic organization where humour and an informal tone contribute to an inspiring work environment.
