The Position
We are looking for a purpose-driven Head of Department who is passionate about driving sustainable change and helping customers transform their business with green innovative solutions. As the new Head of Department in the Green Fuels business unit, you will be heading a team of skilled subject matter experts and technical consultants working with power-to-x, biofuel, and carbon capture projects and have overall responsibility for the continued growth and development of the team. You will embody and promote leadership values that foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment, ensuring that your team is motivated and aligned with the company’s mission. Furthermore, you will be responsible for securing best-in-class project implementation, overseeing the entire lifecycle of selected green fuel projects, and working closely with colleagues across the organization to further develop NIRAS GREENsition services.

Key Responsibilities

• Set the strategic ambition for the team and define clear roles and responsibilities.
• Support and guide each team member in their growth and development.
• Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of green fuel projects.
• Manage multidisciplinary teams across various locations, to achieve project goals.
• Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet all regulatory and sustainability standards.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, including clients, government entities, and internal teams, to align project objectives.
• Drive development of best practice green fuel project implementation in NIRAS.

About you

• You have demonstrated leadership skills, with a proven track record of guiding teams to achieve goals and exceed expectations.
• You thrive in fast paced environments and passionate about developing engaged and high performing teams.
• You preferably have managerial experience from technical- or management consulting
• You have extensive experience in overseeing all aspects of project management​
• You have strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to tailor solutions to meet client requirements​
• Strong technical knowledge and understanding of green fuels and power-to-x technologies​
