Do you want to lead transformational procurement initiatives that will drive competitiveness of Lundbeck through ‘Best in Class’ procurement. We are establishing a new department in Corporate Procurement where you will get an opportunity to drive and develop a team of Global Strategic Sourcing professionals engaged across the spectrum of categories within Lundbeck.

Your new role – why is this a great opportunity?
As Snr. Director of a new established unit in Corporate Procurement, you will drive and lead a team responsible for the development and execution of sourcing strategies for both direct and in-direct spend categories spanning across R&D, Manufacturing & Supply, Corporate Services and Commercial Services, with the charter of engaging on breakthrough transformational sourcing efforts. You will become a focal point for our business partners and support them in effectively implementing procurement initiatives for all Lundbeck employees globally, leading to increased cross-functional value generation.

Your future team
The Global Transformational Sourcing department will be part of Corporate Procurement where you will join our management team of 4 managers responsible for following clusters: R&D, Manufacturing & Supply, Corporate Services, Commercial Services and Procurement Support located in Copenhagen, Krakow and Chicago.

The role as Senior Director of Global Transformational Sourcing will be to develop and deliver Sourcing strategies for multiple spend categories in conjunction with cross functional project teams. To succeed, you will partner with your peers in Corporate Procurement and the line of Business (LOB) globally to maximize category value by employing the following levers: Sourcing & Price Management, Demand Management, Transformational Sourcing, Specification Harmonization, & Process Optimization

Responsibilities:

  • Initially, your role will be to recruit experienced and effective team of 5 sourcing professionals to build a new capability within Lundbeck
  • Provide leadership and strategic vision for Lundbeck to optimize company value through selection of quality suppliers, fact-based negotiations, and performance-based contracting to protect the company's interests in partnership with stakeholders.
  • Serve as member of Corporate Procurement Management Group, contributing to overall Corporate Procurement strategy and deployment, development of Operating Models, annual strategic planning and execution as well as performance management and departmental general management activities.
  • Effectively communicate to leadership at all levels of the organization regarding strategy, progress, and outcomes
  • Focus on value creation through professional and transparent spend management, effective governance, clear accountability, and a functional mandate where Corporate Procurement becomes an integrated part of strategic business decisions related to external spend.
  • Perform diligence and stakeholder management regarding current and upcoming Sourcing needs and compare to specific market conditions.
  • Impact continuous improvement of procurement systems and process roadmaps to optimize performance of Sourcing and procurement activities.
  • Coordinate internally with Procurement leadership on process, technology, organizational alignment, and strategic procurement imperatives.
  • Drive or support implementation of global sourcing and category strategies ensuring functions, countries, and business units understand and comply with the appropriate corporate policies and processes as they related to procurement transactions.

The Snr. Director position is based at our headquarters in Copenhagen, Denmark. Some international travel should be expected.

What you bring to the team
As our new Snr Director, you must first and foremost be a recognized and inclusive people leader, a strategist, and an honest influencer. You are someone who brings extensive functional experience to the table but understands that the best ideas and solutions come from inviting in and listening to diverse minds.

Qualifications:

  • Accredited Master’s Degree preferably within Supply Chain/Procurement, Accounting, Finance, or Economics
  • Minimum 5 years Procurement Leadership experience in leading teams in multiple countries with a focus on building diverse and ever-growing team in a global company environment.
  • 5-10 years relevant work experience in strategic sourcing concepts and/or category management or methodologies across various spend categories.
  • Experience in presenting to executive members and ability to communicate effectively with others at all levels both internally and externally.
  • Documented experience leading Procurement teams in a transformational environment preferably from consultancy experience (including high degree of project and change management skills)
  • Proven history for thriving within a time of transformation within a high-paced environment
  • Proven skillset as a strong collaborator and business partner
  • Comprehensive leadership and effective business partnering capabilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence without authority.
  • Strong business acumen with demonstrated success developing and executing on a multi-year strategy.
  • Robust project and change management skills
  • Extensive written and oral communication skills.
