About the role
On behalf of our client Sambla Group, Academic Work is seeking a senior PHP Developer to join Sambla's development team. This is an exciting opportunity to become a part of a social, trustworthy, and ambitious company with the essence of a scale-up while being supported by the knowledge from Samblas Swedish headquarters. In this role, you will be responsible for optimizing and maintaining a robust and highly commercially successful monolithic application that manages high traffic volumes. You will also be part of a small team that continuously enhances the system to meet evolving business needs and technological advancements.

Work tasks

• Optimize and Maintain High-Traffic Monolithic Application: Take charge of enhancing and sustaining a robust, commercially successful application that handles significant traffic volumes, ensuring its peak performance and reliability
• Continuous Enhancement: Collaborate with a dynamic team dedicated to evolving the system to meet ever-changing business needs and the latest technological advancements, ensuring the application stays ahead of the curve

We are looking for

• Strong Proficiency in PHP: Expertise in both modern object-oriented PHP and legacy PHP is essential
• Database Experience: Strong practical knowledge working with MySQL or other relational databases
• Laravel Experience: Hands-on experience with the Laravel framework
• Full-Stack Development: Either full-stack development experience or a desire and ability to develop skills in front-end technologies such as jQuery, TypeScript, React, or Vue.js
• Analytical Skills: An analytical approach with the ability to extract and analyze complex code and data effectively
• Software Architecture: A solid understanding of common software architecture principles
• Version Control: Familiarity with version control systems like Git
• Fluent in English: both written and spoken Knowledge can be gained through education, experience or self-taught.

It is an advantage if you have

• Familiarity with Python, Linux-based systems and hosting, AWS services related to web hosting, CI/CD, Elastic, and Kibana
• Desire to learn and understand business requirements and stakeholder management
