About this opportunity

International Corporate Branches Technology Software Development- team is a central team providing different IT solutions, including core banking, payment management, web-based NetBank and central systems to three international branches operating independently within Nordea’s ecosystem.

As the Software Development Capability Lead in ICBT, you will play a pivotal role in leading a team of professionals, offering deep insight into technology and architectural strategy required to enable business volume concentration and future Corporate banking platform work in the bank. Majority of your work will focus on backend and full-stack development work. We have many team leaders who will support you in your daily work and we are looking forward to welcome a newcomer to our international team in Denmark. We believe in team work and finding consensus.

What you will be doing:

  • Innovate, plan and create new solutions together with relevant stakeholders
  • Contribute to the day-to-day work (java development)
  • Line manager responsibilities (performance reviews, career discussion, pay reviews etc.)
  • Collaborate closely with the service domain architect on technology and architecture artifacts
  • Serving as a member of the International Corporate Branches Technology leadership team
  • Resource management of the capability in the service domain for employees and external consultants, including hiring
  • Driving the development of ICB solutions across multiple technical stacks, with a particular emphasis on Java development, to meet evolving business and technology needs
  • Deployment and use of relevant standards, frameworks and tools

The role is based in Denmark (Hermes-HUS). Starting time is flexible but preferably in August 2024.

To succeed in this role, we believe that you have:

  • High expertise in Java development, backed by at least 5 years of experience in a lead developer or architect responsibilities (different integration patterns)
  • Previous team leadership experience (minimum 3 years)
  • Flexible ‘’there is always a way’’ problem-solving mentality
  • Strong communication skills in English
  • Willingness to develop your own leadership competencies and coach your team members
  • Latest technologies like microservices, Spring (Framework, Boot, Batch), Maven, Docker, Kubernetes and RDBMS (DB2 and MSSQL)

In addition, it is beneficial if you know/have:

  • Experience leading both employees and consultants remotely/onsite
  • Experience leading technical discussions with senior stakeholders
  • Mentoring and coaching experience
  • Degree in computer science, engineering or similar
