Your Role
You will be involved in the development of 3D scanners, typically focusing on one or two projects at a time. Your primary responsibility will be to oversee the imaging system, ensuring the optical signal is detectable and the scanners can be produced efficiently. This is crucial to maintaining our high standards of performance and reliability, ensuring ease of use for our customers.

Our project teams encompass various hardware and software disciplines, including experts in usability, regulatory affairs, and new product introduction in Production. You will collaborate with optics developers and other specialists throughout different stages of the projects, interacting with colleagues in Denmark, Poland, and Ukraine. You will also be responsible for:

  • Design and model optical systems such as imaging and illumination in Optics Studio (Zemax) at both the lens and system levels and utilize these models to inform decisions and tradeoffs.
  • Test project ideas with optical prototypes.
  • Develop new calibration and testing routines with software and electronics engineers.
  • Perform tolerance analysis with mechanical engineers.
  • Define optical specifications and support the procurement function.
  • Present and explain technical information to a multidisciplinary team of engineers, supply chain professionals, and interdisciplinary specialists.
  • Engage with peer and support teams to transfer production and quality control solutions aligned with production strategy.

Your profile
To let us address the challenges we face in developing our solutions and to thrive in this job, an ideal candidate will have experience working on high-tech products and with complex processes, and should possess most of the following qualifications:

  • A M.Sc. or Ph.D. degree in physics, optical engineering, or a similar field, or equivalent experience with an emphasis on optical system performance and analysis.
  • Comprehensive analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Hands-on experience with optical system alignment (e.g., imaging, testing, alignment, calibration, detector systems, etc.).
  • Experience with using ray tracing tools (Optics Studio, Code V, or similar).
  • Experience with optical cameras
  • Knowledge of data processing and analysis and software tools (e.g., Python).
  • Some knowledge of electronics, mechanics, or software design.

The job will require about 10 days of travel per year.
