Project Manager, Offshore Transportation & Installation (International)

Advising installation and marine operations on offshore wind projects for one of the world’s leading consultants within the renewable industry.

We experience a rapid growth in the demand from developers and suppliers for our specialised services renewable energy, in established and new markets all over the world, and in particular an increased demand for package management support to manage all marine operations and installation related matters in our offshore projects.

Depending on your location, you will be working out of one of our global offices with a hybrid set up, where you will be assigned to support one or more of our offshore projects in Europe, or in Asia. You will be functionally reporting to our Director, Project Management located in the UK, and you will become part of a highly dedicated and skilled team. What you’ll be doing:
As Project Manager, Offshore Transportation & Installation, you will be a central member of a highly dynamic team with exposure to clients and projects around the world.

Typical tasks and areas of responsibility:

• Responsible for the coordination of all marine operations and installation related matters on offshore wind farms
• Advise on all marine operations (installation vessels) and installation support services (e.g. crew transfer vessels, helicopter services, support vessel, etc.) to be used during execution phase
• Advise on or ensure compliance with the Marine Warranty Surveyor processes
• Advise on or ensure compliance with HSE-regulations related to installation operations
• Client counselling on marine matters
• Contribute to tendering and negotiation process for installation support services contracts and report to tender manager
• Coordinate with the civil engineering department to ensure seamless integration between foundation design and marine installation operations, ensuring that design specifications are met during the installation phase
• Support our regional offices and other departments, e.g. our Civil Engineering or our Due Diligence team, on all marine related matters and sales activities
• Provide support on variation orders and claims in relation to all marine installation operations
• Support technical evaluation of installation concepts

Qualifications:

• You hold a relevant educational background at either Bachelor’s or Master’s level combined with 5+ years of professional experience in offshore wind project execution
• You have experience from the maritime sector in general and able to understand and communicate all maritime matters related to vessels and offshore operations
• You have solid knowledge regarding planning maritime logistics and vessel operations, ideally from the offshore wind sector
• A project manager certificate preferred (e.g. PMI, IPMA or Prince2)
• Strong understanding of the construct of contracts and terms and conditions
• Extensive experience in identifying, drafting and agreeing contract amendments / Variations
• Experience and understanding of planning tools (e.g. MSP, Primavera)
• Experienced user of Microsoft Office programs
• Good cultural understanding and experience working with clients around the world
• You possess excellent communication skills in English, enabling you to present and communicate complex matters in a professional and straightforward way, also in writing.
• Ability to travel to meet the project- or client needs
• You must be eligible to work in one of the countries with a K2 Management entity
