We are searching for a senior cobol s
oftware engineer
with experience in mainframe development.
We are looking for a senior cobol software engineer for our team - Securities Trading. We are a part of the Wealth Management and Trading Domain, which in turn is a part of Engineering Platforms division. We develop products and concepts around Trading and Settlement of Securities. Tasks related to Sustainable Finance – Customer preference and Target Market, Post Trade harmonization, Decoupling of Mainframe are few examples of the upcoming focus areas for the Team.
As a mainframe engineer, you will play a key role in building our Business Solutions. You will be a part of a dynamic team of three Business Analyst and five Software developers.
We are looking at someone, with min. 10 years of relevant experience in Cobol, CICS, DB2, JCL, SQL, IDz/RDz, Erwin and a positive approach towards Unit testing or automated testing.
At BEC, we prefer to collaborate often in the office, but we also keep the opportunity to work remotely up to 8 days per month.
Your primary tasks and responsibilities will include:
- Write well designed, testable, efficient code to support varied and complex IT solutions, that fulfil the requirements of our customer.
- Be able to design the architecture of a solution and drive the development.
- Engaging directly with customers to develop a better understanding of their needs.
- Capability to mentor team members, share knowledge, and facilitate training sessions to enhance the skill set of the development team.
- Knowledge with Agile methodologies, such as Scrum to ensure an iterative and adaptive approach to development.
- Preparing technical and procedural documentation associated with IT development.
- Collaborating with the Product Owner and other teams across the organization to ensure the best possible solutions for incoming business requirements.
Nice to have:
- Familiarity with Git/BitBucket, JIRA, API, Java, Kafka.
- Experience of working in the financial sector
- Proven project management skills running IT projects
- Problem Management. Conducting various analysis such as root cause or pareto to finding the source of a problem.
With colleagues in the team distributed in Denmark and Poland, you must master English at a high level both in writing and orally.
