Landowner & Community Liaison
Ørsted
Join us in this role where you’ll lead the engagement with landowners and communities to help originate new renewable energy projects and build on existing relationships where there is an established presence.
Welcome to Project Development
You’ll be part of Project Development where you, together with your colleagues, will build relationships with new landowners and communities across the country. The role is to be the single point of contact for local communities and landowners where renewable energy projects are proposed, incl. signing new landowners into the project while communicating and informing communities during early-stage development along with gaining feedback on individual and group proposals. We develop wind, solar and energy storage renewable energy projects, managing projects from greenfield origination right through the development cycle. As a team, we collaborate daily and support each other in our varying tasks required to develop a renewable project. We promote continuous learning and development through team meetings and build a strong team ethos to deliver on the challenges of project development.
You’ll play an important role in:
- supporting the project team while engaging with local communities and individuals in relation to proposed renewable energy projects in their area
- engaging and negotiating with landowners to secure land agreements to develop sites for wind, solar, and battery projects
- coordinating legal teams to secure agreements between our organisation and landowner representatives
- drafting communication materials with the project development teams, incl. leaflets, booklets, websites, social media, etc., and communicating project updates
- sourcing and securing infrastructure land, such as turbine delivery routes and biodiversity land to support project development.
To succeed in the role, you:
- have significant relevant work experience in a similar field, working on landowner negotiations and community engagement with an excellent application of Microsoft applications and general IT systems, preferably have experience with GIS mapping
- are an excellent communicator with demonstrated ability to engage with individuals on a one-to-one or group basis and can proactively engage with landowners and the community
- have strong organisational and time management skills with an energetic approach and a proven ability to work with deadlines
- are able to travel frequently throughout Ireland and sometimes Northern Ireland
- are proactive and solution-oriented and a practical doer who delivers quality results on time
- are a team player with strong communication, influencing, and relationship building skills.
Maybe you’ve read the above and can see you have some transferable skills, even though they don’t quite match all the points. If you think you can bring something to the team, we still encourage you to apply.
