AGC Biologics is an international and modern organization with production sites in Europe, Japan, and the US. AGC Biologics is the largest contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO). AGC Biologics delivers biopharmaceutical development and manufacturing of Drug Bulk Intermediates/Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients for clinical studies and the global commercial market.

About the department
You will join the Global Operational Excellence team and be part of the team covering the EU region. The team covers our AGC biologics sites in Copenhagen, Heidelberg, and Milan. The team consists of 3 to 5 Operational Excellence Business partners, covering all European sites. We are responsible for facilitating and actively supporting global and site-specific Operational Excellence initiatives.

The job
We are looking for an experienced Lean partner to support our growing number of improvement initiatives across the EU region. In this position, you will report to and work with the Director of Operational Excellence for the EU region and your team members in Copenhagen, Heidelberg, and Milan. You will be a key player in leading Lean projects together with internal stakeholders as well as planning change management activities and equipping leaders to facilitate continuous improvements.

You will be responsible for setting the direction for our Lean projects in the pipeline. Through interviews, data collection, dialogue, and analysis with the involved areas, you will present business cases and be responsible for designing and implementing standardization and improvement projects as well as new innovative projects.

Responsibilities:
- Monitor and report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

- Implement Lean elements such as visual management, problem-solving, and waste identification

- Collaborate with colleagues globally and identify cross-collaboration opportunities

- Develop and teach lean training activities for colleagues to strengthen their lean capabilities

- Interview and collect data from key stakeholders in the organization

- Analyze large data sets to identify opportunities and drive fact-based decisions

- Create dashboards/visuals to communicate improvement impacts

- Identify and develop optimization opportunities in partnership with other areas

- Develop systems to support ongoing improvements in business processes and procedures

- Act as a systems thinker, business analyzer, barrier breaker, and facilitator

- Drive and anchor change in the organization

- Provide project leadership and management

- Coach middle and senior management on continuous improvement concepts

Qualifications:
- Degree in natural science, engineering, operations, or supply chain management

- Strong business understanding and ability to connect improvement efforts to business value

- Solid IT skills

- 7+ years of Lean experience, including identifying, managing, and driving cross-functional process improvement efforts

- Understanding of a production site from the pharmaceutical industry including an understanding of working in a regulated industry

- Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Certification is preferred

- Effective communication skills with management, leadership, peers, and subordinates

- You can engage, collaborate, give advice, and provide feedback to your colleagues as well as stakeholders

- Fluency in spoken and written English is required
